Fuck y'all for having me white knight Doug, but he is right. Most of you are chicken little "Iowa Fan" with a loose grip on reality and even less on perspective. The portal is going to be a reality for Iowa players with little eligibility and yet remain behind others when healthy on the depth chart. This is the one chance for Roberts to make some hay with a chance at being a starter for someone. He has been good and a great ST player that we will miss until the next guy steps up and starts making similar plays next year. The one exception is Jacobs. That one hurts but the $ does make a difference for a guy who once again has had injury problems and has only one more shot at this. CB depth is and will be perfectly fine, particularly under Phil. LBs are thin, but we are also apparently looking to add some depth there.

To the further point about Kirk trolling "Iowa fan", he is the consummate professional and will always say the politically correct thing in public/media, and to add on to Doug's point, do you really think Cade would be coming here if there was any chance that the status quo would still be in place.

So this is where we’re at so far. I’m guessing damn near every team in the country looks similar. Some better. Some worse. I’d take Jacobs back in a heartbeat. I wish things went better with Johnson this year, but probably best for both to move on. Roberts would be nice to have back, but not a huge deal either way. Don’t really GAF about the rest. All things considered, could be a lot worse IMO. Based on all the chatter, I still think there is plenty of reason for optimism over the next month. We shall see.
