Iowa opens as a 14.5 point favorite. The Fighting Hank Brown's will be dealing with the heat again, looks to be around 82 degrees and humid at kickoff, but down to a beautiful low 70's in the second half.

Let's see if Kirk can keep from losing 4 out of the last 5 to the Cyclones!!!!!!!!!!

Let us only focus on good vibes this week:

57-3. I particularly liked the 3.

We are going to dismantle them. It is going to be a skull fucking that will be reminiscent of the Fry Era.

Iowa State didn't run the ball very well against SEMO. I can't imagine they'll be able to run much better against us.

Can we win comfortably against a team that's going to struggle to make a bowl game in a shitty conference? Please?

Brown starts and looks good as Iowa jumps out to a 13-0 lead. Kirk & Tim then squeeze the air out of the ball and the crowd for 2.5 quarters and Iowa State closes the gap in familiar and frustrating fashion. After Konrardy nails another 50-yarder, the lead sits at just 16-13 mid-4th before Hecklinski leads Iowa on a 10+ play, game-sealing TD drive.

I hope they're crap, of course, but don't think this Clown team is to be compared with Campbell's first rag tag bunch with Joel Lanning at QB and nobody on defense.

Didn't watch, but they had 3.5 ypc against an FCS team. Starting QB was at 50%, but over 11 yards an attempt. So, pretty poor showing on offense, outside of a few long passes.

On defense, they had six sacks, but didn't exactly shut down the run outside of SEMO's QB going for -52 yards. I'm not a big fan of "outside of the good plays, they were bad," but I think it makes sense here.

If this wasn't ISU, and all the bullshit that comes with that, nobody would be nervous.

new guy got the recipe for beating Iowa, stack the box, make Iowa throw. Hopefully, this time Kirk wont get a 3 point lead and spend the 4th quarter trying to run out the clock

I usually don’t put much in home field advantage in this series but at night that’ll be worth something

Someone please link the thoughtful tweet by Top Tier Iowa State comparing the position groups. HaLo will find it a useful primer for the game.

Funny if it weren't so likely to be true.
