The Dad is fragile, but he’d work the fuck out of Leeroy for as long as his poor body would permit. We’re talkin’ genuine skunk, imo.
I was a playground legend the likes of small town Iowa has never seen. Kevin O’Neil even told me so when I was 12!!!

Nice win. Health will be key the rest of the year more than most. They really have only 6 guys they can rely on. Trayore is pretty bad. It sucks that Koch can't play because I think he would have developed and been very good late in the year.
Agreed on Koch.
Hopeful Traore is just in a funk. He’s been bad and indecisive since the injury. Even adjusting for competition, he showed he should give more than this.

As down as we all are on this team, we haven't lost to anyone shitty yet.

Utah State is our lowest ranked loss according to Pomeroy and they are 16-1.

Purdue, Illinois, and Iowa all have the same record

I'm on record as this being the year Fran is going to paint is masterpiece. I'm also on record as wanting him fired on the bus home from Wisconsin a week ago.

I'm correct on both.

Our schedule at the end of the season is pretty tough.

We need wins now while the gettin is good.

Splitting this west coast trip would be huge. 13-5 with the next 4 out of 5 at home would put us in a great position

Galloway: 20 minutes played.

0 points
0 rebounds
1 assist
4 turnovers
0/2 fg
4 fouls

Makes one stop and ponder. Perhaps the worst stat line i have ever seen.
They apparently paid him significant money to come back. Seeing him in an IUPUI jersey must have been too much for them to bear.

Indiana also took an insane amount of pull up 15-18 foot jump shots last night that were not particularly close to going in. Not a single player on Indianas roster had any interest in playing after the under 16 minute timeout in the second half.

I'm an old curmudgeon with this shit, but players look so much worse today than 20 years ago in college. Both centers are fat and out of shape. Neither team had a wing player with any muscle definition. A ton of goofy white guys all over.

Wonder if Tuesday @ USC will be postponed.

Traore has been shit since he came back from injury. On the other hand, Dembele has been better not playing with Freeman and instead subbing for him.

I'm assuming the Miami transfer would take Traores spot next year in the rotation. Koch being out hurts like a bitch, I think they're going to be counting on him a lot next season

Similar to iowa in Madison, sometimes you just need to mail it in when it’s not your night on the road. The college season is looking more like the NBA with the ridiculous number of conference games and it’s a grind. Save your energy and don’t let one bad loss turn into 2 or 3. I’ll give Fran credit for getting them right mentally. And Fartman has been maddening on the court but he’s the locker room guy we have needed for a while.

Almost like you were watching Iowa vs Indiana basketball.

Is this tough, or bitchy?
I’d lean toward tough since they match up against each other. But also, its referencing feeling slighted in the voting for a previous year frosh of year vote, which feels bitchy. But this Iowa team is so much better when Freeman is playing hard and engaged, so whatever works.

All five Iowa starters in double digit scoring yesterday, and everyone at 50% or better FG percentage. The team looked great. Fun game.

Man, Freeman was in form last night. Hope we can get that effort out of him the rest of the year. Is it assumed that this is his last year in Iowa City? Or did I make that up

Dix and Freeman would be stupid to stay. They are the exact type of guys that need to maximize their earnings now.

With the way college sports are, nobody has the luxury of being surprised by any player transferring. But I don't know why people would assume Freeman is likely gone.

Jaacks put his elbows up when he was introduced. He was dirty.

I think McCabe was more bitchy than anything.

The basketball salary budget will jump significantly with the house case. I’m confident the Riley Mulveys of the world would understand if Dix and Freeman got the majority of that cash.

Does seem like Fran has been better at landing targets recently. I love Fran and wish he would be become iowas GM. He can still go to the games to watch.

Obviously as fans we are mostly just guessing, but it seems like Tristan Spurlock being in a recruiting position has helped.

Indiana was leading 28-25 with 6 to go in the 1st half.

Over the next 14 minutes we went on a 40-12 run

Iowa was also up 25-13 to begin the game. The 15-0 run had chat melting down, Fran was about to miss the bus again if we had our way.

I will take any conference win, but it was great to have this game essentially cancel out the Wisconsin debacle. That game was crushing our metrics.

Fran and Kirk both seem to struggle to understand that an important part of sports is getting the other team to give up.
