Iowa State has only played one other top-10 v top-10 game. They lost 49-3 at No. 2 Oklahoma in 2002.

This is the biggest home game they've ever played, and it isn't particularly close.
I would rank Campbell’s home debut slightly ahead of it

I hope we break one off in them.
Saturday has all the opportunity for an all-time Iowa football day. Iowa could vault itself, legitimately, deep into the top-10, while ending the promise of Iowa State's first ever season with real promise, and ALSO at the precise moment Iowa State's conference is semi-permanently setting itself up as an also-ran.

We're talking an all-time, elite level of despair for them. Buckner-through-the-legs despair.

I hate this. While it may be win and crush their souls….a loss would result in more chest thumping and crowing than we’ve ever seen. Which would REALLY be saying something. CMC would of officially passed Ferentz, it would officially be a cyclone state…and they’d all be dumbass Jamie’s claiming they are now the bear.

They will be unbearable, no doubt, but the cost of a loss here to Iowa is reasonably low. A loss isn't embarrassing, for the first time in history, and doesn't take off the table anything we thought was reasonable for the season ten days ago.

But they will be miserable.

Not sure the comparison is appropriate as Buckner was still really good after that boner of a play.

Actually, he was pretty average, at best, after 1986. But, age had something to do with that

Gonna bet the under. Hopefully Brian can get the run game going as I don’t have confidence in Petras on the road.

UNI took #7 Iowa State to the final play of the game. FCS media was so impressed, they stayed ranked 21st. The coaches were more impressed, as they moved UNI from 16 to 15.

Nearly beat a top-10 ranked Iowa State on the road, and the collective assessment of UNI is that they’re probably mediocre.

Oof. Who could he possibly confused them for, or is he really that uninformed? Auburn?

Arizona might be the worst P5 team this year.
I would guess Arizona State as well, but that is bit a mistake one should make if they are paying attention at all.

WTF is RVTV?
Five TV guys plus the "Iowa Nice" guy driving from town to town, between Des Moines and Ames. Each town throws a little one-night festival, and tells the big city TV guys how funny they are. It constitutes 30% of each night's newscast.

Seems more likely whoever compiled that chart just accidentally used the wrong logo there.

I watched a couple of videos. I see a lot of overweight white people just livin' the good 'ol rural lifestyle.

It's good for them to get out of the house and get some exercise.

The important thing is that the kernel poll has ISU winning in both Polk City and Cambridge.
