The only bowl game of the day and that’s the kickoff time they go with? Lol

This seems odd, but maybe there's a logical explanation:

"Ferentz also confirmed that Auburn quarterback transfer Hank Brown and incoming quarterback recruit Jimmy Sullivan will participate in bowl practices with the team, but both will miss the bowl game."

Could a stud from a team who didn’t make the playoffs transfer to a team who did, enroll and play in these games? If so, it’s only a matter of time.

Then after the bowl game a team in the playoffs pick them up to rent them for their game. Shawnees sure this will be the new norm.

If it helps, Iowa has been outscored 250-34 in 7 of their last 8 matchups against ranked teams*

*excluded a 20-17 loss to Kentucky in 2021 to cherry pick but 270-51 in last 8 games against ranked teams is amazingly fucking awful and maybe worse. Merry Christmas!

Everyone seems to lament the failure of the '97 team, as though it was supposed to be the super team, but the '96 team was considerably more talented. A team with Sedric Shaw, Tavian Banks, Tim Dwight and Ross Verba on offense and Jared Devries, Billy Inge, Tom Knight, Damien Robinson and Vernon Rollins on defense, coming off of a dominant bowl win, lost to Tulsa, barely beat 5-6 Arizona and was castrated and scalped by Northwestern.

PS- Whatever happened to Granny36?

Why Iowa and Mizzou didn't play for 100 years

University of Iowa President George MacLean proposed a compromise to A. Ross Hill, the President of the University of Missouri. He said that Iowa “would meet Missouri halfway and not play a negro in Missouri” but would pine for an integrated contest in Iowa City.

“The public sentiment of this state,” he said, “is about as strong that a negro must be admitted to play as it is in your state that he cannot play.” He ended his letter by saying “the old [saying] may apply: ‘When with the Romans do as the Romans do.’” It was a concerted effort to get Mizzou to potentially change its ways.

President Hill’s response would help determine if these two teams were to keep playing each other in football. The fate of potential heroes, bragging rights and instant-classics rested in the ink that seeped from Hill’s writing utensil.

“I tried to make the position of Missouri clear, and you have made clear that of Iowa,” he said.

“In that case there will be nothing for us to do but sever athletic relations, because Missouri will not play against any team that has a ‘ni***r’ on it.”
