The Ohio State Gameday broadcast from 2006. Skimming through both that and a show from earlier this year.
20 years ago so it's fucking old but might as well be 200. only 2 hours. no celebrity picker. Desmond Howard was new-ish, and they briefly cut to Musburger/Davie (plus Herbstreit) but it's mostly a three-man desk show. A few Home Depot hats and barriers but fairly ad-light.
Advertising everywhere. Massive sets and crews. Multiple celebrities plus Pat McAfee running around. Someone who thinks that rich men eating is good television. Despite a longer show, they seem to hit fewer games than in 2006. Gambling all over the preview stuff.
Some changes are just me yelling at a cloud about how SNL was the best when I was 17. Some parts are clearly worse. The limited film stuff with Saban and Herbie does seem better and despite any nostalgia Corso was not a film guy. Above all just interesting to see how different it is.
