Iowa's run game always looks like a mess in September, it will consistently get better and be dominant by November. The talent is there, and they didn't give up many TFLs against one of the best defenses they'll play all season.

They need Hank Brown to start hitting passes in the middle of the field to slow down the LBs and Safety's.

The line is much better than anyone expected. They aren't asked to do much, eat up blockers mostly, protect linebackers. They don't get pushed back much. I've been pleasantly surprised.

I think Kamari Brown could be a solid pass rush DE, but I'm guessing he's not as good with his run assignments so they didn't use him a lot yesterday. Drew Campbell has looked promising on pash rush too. Someone needs to step up in that role Saturday.

And agreed that hasn't been a schematic goal so far this year, so it's possible they are better there than we think.

Iowa has had defenses just like this in the past. Poor pass rush. Phil has ways to make it work. Iowa's scheme sort of lends itself to make up for a weak pass rush. Keep everyone in front, eyes on the QB. Some guys we want to throw.
