Iowa starts out horribly the following season, but Iowa keeps their word. Iowa makes the tournament the next five seasons, and everything is fine. Fran starts sucking and getting bitchier, and he gets fired. Iowa makes the Elite 8 with the new coach, Fran makes the tournament with his new school.

The only controversy was not making a big public announcement of the extension, but I understand the reasoning.
