Every Big ten offense looked pretty bad in the first round. No one can make shots, only Wisconsin and Purdue shot above 30% from three. The conference always seems to play like garbage in the tournament; and maybe they are just always overrated. But I'm not sure it's that simple, and Karen Warren et al need to figure what they can do to help teams play their best every year. They could start with playing the big ten tournament earlier to give teams more rest and practice time with the shitty Wilson ball. Also changing how Big Ten conference game are refereed would help. The big ten seems to pride itself on letting bigs play inside, but the refs aren't as generous to them in the tournament. Keegan, Kofi, etc seem out of sorts because they get calls against them they haven't had called all season. There's probably no easy fix, but it can't just be a coincidence anymore. The Big Ten has 7 kenpom top 50 offenses who all suddenly can't make a shot at the exact same time?

I don’t think it’s accurate that the Big Ten always performs poorly in the tournament. I can’t find a quick way to see it now but I thought I remember reading they’ve been 1 or 2 in Final Fours, S16’s and finalists since 2000. Just no champions.

I don't remember the time frame, but someone put together an 'expected win by seeding" for a bunch of conferences, and the Big Ten was basically scratch, one win above expected, I believe.
