Cedar Falls, Ia. - Kurt Warner held a clipboard as a reserve quarterback for Northern Iowa's football team.
The first President George Bush served out his term as Bill Clinton neared his first day in office.
"Matlock" aired on prime time TV.
And, for the fifth and final time that season, the Panthers held the No. 1 ranking in Division I-AA, now called the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision (FCS).

Northern Iowa climbed to the top spot in the Sports Network's NCAA FCS top 25 poll released Monday, replacing Montana at the summit.
"(We're) getting a little frenzy going around here," said Northern Iowa safety Chris Parsons, whose tackle preserved a wild 30-24 win Saturday over Southern Illinois at a sold-out UNI-Dome.
