Yeah, given that Iowa still celebrates a guy that has been dead nearly 75 years and has his jersey retired and a stadium named after him and play his Heisman speech before every game, it really isn't that weird that the basketball program does this as well.

IMO the record is the most organic part of his legacy. Pure basketball and unbreakable as it never ended on the court. It’s been part of my memory of Chris street since the day he died as I remember how he broke the prior record his last game.
