If you mean last possession it was bohannon at Wisconsin last year. Uthoff at Minnesota.

Woodbury against Temple in the NCAA Tournament was the last buzzer beater.

Oh WTF. There are easy ways to check this if you haven't been watching games.

There's only been 1 other game this year where they've had a chance to tie or win on the last possession and that was the MSU half courter by Baer.

Last year they tied on the last possession of regulation against TCU with a Cook bucket, then failed in OT down 2. 4 games before that in their previous chance they beat Wisconsin.

That was the night Lunardi started baiting us with the (legitimate) possibility of getting into the tournament. In recent days ESPN appears to have expanded his role into cameos in multiple games each day. In a season like this, he's the last person I want to hear from.

The only buzzer beaters I can remember as an Iowa fan are Woodbury and Luke Recker in the Big Ten tournament.

I think since Fran has been here we have like 5 last possession wins (the ones mentioned already plus North Carolina and a few others) and roughly 30 last possession losses. I think Gesell alone has roughly 15 different times where he came down with a chance to win or tie and shit down his leg.

Fair to blame Gesell for many things, but end of game situations are not one of them. He should have never been put in that position. The end of game strategy was poor, and Iowa’s better playmakers (Jok, Uthoff, White) were seemingly never able to separate from their defenders. Fran put Mike in tough spots.

Stating the obvious here but there's a reason why Iowa hasn't been successful with last possessions. You need a playmaker for end of game situations. Iowa hasn't had one since Chauncey Leslie. I guess if you cheat and push off like Woody did, then it's possible. But this trend will continue until Iowa actually gets someone who can create his own shot.

Not mccabe and not last second, but against Wisconsin at home Uthoffs senior year he left Uthoff on the bench from the 5 minute mark until damn near the end of the game, as wisky goes on a huge run. No fucking timeouts. That shit scarred me almost as much as Kirk punting to end a half inside the opponents territory.

I think Fran is definitely a worse game time coach then Kirk but it's pretty close

Sure. Which is funny because Fran has typically done a decent job with set out of bounds plays. Part of the issue too is that teams know that refs are loathe to blow the whistle in a game deciding situation, so they just pressure the shit out of Iowa's go-to guy and Iowa has lacked anyone with an ability to create a shot under pressure.
