First day of team practice today. Fran starting things out right by going with my Saturday morning “a couple beers after work on Friday got way out of hand” look

I hope Maishe isn't practicing his free throws too much. Wouldn't be right.

Dougs efforts have missed the tournament for two straight years. Also, he barely pays attention.

I honestly have no idea how good they’ll be. You’d like to think the defense has to be better by default but I thought it was going to be last year too.

Hopefully Garza anchoring the defense and the added athleticism of Weiskamp will help.

Ive never used the new posts function.

I typically read old posts that I’m certain don’t suck.

I didn't know it was this bad.

The plan is for Garza, a 6-foot-11 sophomore, to return to the team sometime this winter. The Hawkeyes open the season Nov. 8 vs. Missouri-Kansas City.

“We’re counting on him being back for sure. We just don’t know when,” Frank Garza said.

I’m guessing it was a fairly sizable teratoma

I don't remember which thread it was in here, but Coach Speraw apparently said it weighed 10 pounds and was the size of a volleyball, so........

Iowa has a brutal schedule to start the year.

Oregon is one of the biggest teams in the NCAA. Syracuse should be much improved. UNI and Iowa State will be tough.

Hopefully they have Garza by December.

Oregon has Bol Bol, 7'2" freshman son of Manut Bol. Didn't know that, thanks Doug.

Pemsl is apparently in even better shape now than last year, and is gonna be another year removed from that major knee surgery he had. I've always liked his game and hopefully he takes advantage of the opportunity with Garza out.

You want Pemsl at the 5? Kreiner has the most to gain with Garza being out.

Personally I liked Big Butt version of Pemsl. The leaner more explosive version last year underwhelmed me.

I watched a couple of games last year and if I remember right, he was a really decent 3 point shooter. No one can defend that. Plus he moved well, unlike dad.

Can hit 3s but is 7’2” and allergic to the paint. If he can round out his game closer to the basket, he’ll be nearly unstoppable

Chick in the blue has a forehead like a drive in movie theater, but she's a good shit so we don't bust her chops too much.
