Watching this the last 2 days is depressing. Iowa's guard situation is atrocious even compared to some really low seeds. I know that had to do with injury, but it is still a glaring difference.

And yeah I overall like Fran a lot but he is super behind the times in terms of his offense and the type of guys he tends to recruit, it's really frustrating.

For what it's worth, here are the percentage of shots taken from each distance and the FG percentage from those spots according to hoop-math.com.

Iowa- 33.0% of shots attempted near the rim, shot 68.2%
Marshall- 37.0% of shots attempted near the rim, shot 63.9%

Iowa- 33.0% of shots on 2 point jumpers, shot 38.3%
Marshall- 17.5% of shots on 2 point jumpers, shot 40.8%

Iowa- 34.0% of shots from 3, shot 37.5%
Marshall- 45.5% of shots from 3, shot 35.4%

Add it all up and Iowa's eFG% was 54.3% which ranked 45th, Marshall was 54.8% which ranked 33rd.

Iowa- FT Rate (FTA/FGA) of 35.4%, shot 69.5%
Marshall- FT Rate of 33.3%, shot 76.5%

Edit: Also worth pointing out that Iowa ranked 116th in getting to the line, Marshall was 190th. Iowa was 26th in offensive rebounding, Marshall was 330th because of their 5 out philosophy basically neglecting it. Iowa was 190th in turnovers, Marshall was 70th.

Put it all together and Iowa ranked 21st in offensive efficiency while Marshall was 86th. I wish our guys didn't take so many long 2's also, but Fran's offensive track record is pretty impressive.
