They have basically split with teams even with them.

This is a 7-9 seed tourney team destined to win one game then get whooped in round 2.

I totally agree that being blown out sucks...but on the other hand, takes the sting out of it. I'm not even upset tonight.

I’d be upset if it was an effort issue. The kids played hard. They make even 20% from 3 and who knows.

Disappointing. 6-3 last 9 against them and always seem to play them well. Obviously no chance when you shoot like that and get nothing from your 3 guards.

Shitty part of it is I thought we came out of the half with a great approach offensively. Attacked everything, racked up fouls and moved the ball. But it was all negated because they hit a 4-point play plus two other 3's in the first few minutes. Felt like we were playing well enough on offense to make it tight but late shots killed us.

Middle of the first half was the other tough stretch. Bench guys played really good defense, forced tough shots and kept them off the board for a long stretch but never scored to take advantage.

I think the second half of next year will be fun. A lot of seniors that will know the end is near like White did. We’ve seen them play with urgency, but not collectively every night. That has to change to take it up a notch.

And @coff was right, Iowa tried too hard tonight to get Teske in foul trouble and didn’t adjust. It completely took Iowa’s backcourt out of the game. Can’t fault Fran because the game plan made sense, but at some point you have to shoot your bigs open.

Don't really want to think too much about next year while we still have tournament in front of us but it will be different. Arguably could be Fran's most talented roster but also a lot of potential problems with cohesiveness and too many dudes. Lot to shake out.

Agreed on the game plan. Blame falls on the coaches for not forcing the adjustment enough and on the guards for passing up opportunities and only looking to dump it down. Bigs also had some kick out looks they neglected in favor of tough shots.

Randy would write an article about "finding it!!1". For the first time in weeks, they got beat by a better team and didn't pack it in. Moss driving the lane was nice to see despite each layup finding a way to rim out. There's a reason Michigan has been unbeatable in the past three conference tournaments.

Fran Frascilla called him one of the best Big Ten players of the last 50 years. Of the last 2 Wisconsin centers he’s #2.

He's the 4th or 5th best big in the douche this year, depending on how Teske is playing on any particular day. Fuck everyone who says nice things about him.

Happ led his team in points, rebounds, assists, and steals this year and almost in blocks. He averaged 17.8 pts, 10.4 rbds, 4.7 assts, 1.1 steals, and 1.2 blks, in only 32.4 minutes per game. Get the fuck out of here with 4th or 5th best big in the douche. His skill set is remarkably unique and he's a great fucking player.

He has the second highest assist percentage in the conference. Only person in front is Big Ten Player of the Year and starting PG of a top ten team.

That seems pretty good. And he’s also atop almost all advanced stats for the conference.

But someone says him and Shaq are bad at free throws therefore they aren’t good players because the points contributed in minutes 0-46 count for less than the points contributed during minutes 46-48. Not quite sure what to believe anymore.

I hope you're right, but the Uthoff/Woodbury/Gesell/Clemens season disproves the theory that talented senior classes are destined to finish strong.

I hope you're right, but the Uthoff/Woodbury/Gesell/Clemens season disproves the theory that talented senior classes are destined to finish strong.

That team pretty much only had 2 guys that could score and their main bench guys were a freshman walk on in Baer, sophomore Dom Uhl, freshman Christian Williams and Ahmad Wagner.

They caught lightning in a bottle when Uhl was shooting 60% from 3 to start Big Ten play. They did play great defense though, but once teams basically forced the ball out of Uthoffs hands Iowa was fucked.
