Jans has some baggage. I only know of the Bowling Green incident but apparently he has a reputation. He's doing a hell of a job though.

Craig Smith would be the top guy for me. Nate Oats is another obvious one but could get something higher depending on timing.

You’re right. Jans would be great but the timing will never work. He will get a bigger job soon before Iowa or Fran move on unfortunately.

Heiar is a guy to really keep an eye on. He’s going to get a his first crack at a mid major soon. With his ability to get good guards I expect him to do well. His resume as it relates to guards is as good as it gets. I wish Fran would have brought him in years ago.

He’s the guy that could run a mid major for a few years and do well that may time right with Fran leaving/being asking to leave. That would be a dream scenario.

UNC beat Duke without Zion. MSU beat Michigan twice without Ward. I think Michigan is really, really good. But I don’t think it’s really fair to call them the best team in the big ten as it stands right now. Doesn’t matter though

If Darian DeVries can replicate and improve upon what he did at Drake in year one, he’s a realistic hire after Fran. I like him because he understands college basketball is a guards game. He loaded up with them in his first year at Drake. His family is here in Iowa and he’s at an age he probably isn’t gonna jump ship for something else.
