Yep
Yep. The one time transfer rule is going to do nothing but fuck the talent-less states like Iowa.Recruiting out of state kids is going to suck moving forward because the odds are pretty good that if they excel they'll be looking to move closer to home.
You're better off getting in state players and filling in with transfers. There was smoke that Luka was looking to transfer to Maryland or Georgetown at one point.
Or you get an in state kid like Adam Miller who starts every game as a freshman for a 1 seed and still bounces. It’s crazy. Hope you get kids with a good support system that aren’t going to buy into BS from peripheral people getting in their ear but good luck.Recruiting out of state kids is going to suck moving forward because the odds are pretty good that if they excel they'll be looking to move closer to home.

The Fredrick rumor has been ongoing for awhile, specifically Matt Jones. Not sure why anyone thought Wieskamp would come back. There was never a chance next year wasn’t going to suckBefore it became obvious Wieskamp was likely gone Fran was looking at this starting 5 next year:
Toussaint or Connor
Fredrick
Wieskamp
Keegan Murray
Nunge
Now he’s looking at guys that started at North Dakota.
Frans going to land Marcus Carr now right?

I don’t feel bad for any coach not stupid enough to be a total scum bag going forwardWelcome to the future of college basketball. Sort of funny how many times we laughed at Xavier Foster and Iowa State and how things flipped around completely in a matter of months, and here we are now looking at it flipping completely around again.
If a program like Iowa and a coach like Fran can't keep Fredrick around after their shared connections and history, then I don't have a clue who you can ever count on keeping.
I understand that Fredrick is from Kentucky and likely feels like that is too good of an option to pass up, but it fucking sucks and is a bad sign for any coach that isn't ready and willing to be a total scumbag going forward.

I was talking early November when it was discussed about Iowa post Luka and how they were still set up pretty well even if Wieskamp left. The Fredrick rumor has been ongoing for awhile, specifically Matt Jones. Not sure why anyone thought Wieskamp would come back. There was never a chance next year wasn’t going to suck
Look at the guys who actually come for official visits.Fran doesn't have an under-the-radar approach.
I think he meant “stupid enough to not be a total scumbag”
walk on at Iowa? The shit with his uncle doesn’t make any sense. The only reason he was at Iowa to begin with was because of his uncle playing for Fran and the fact that the local schools other than Xavier ignored him. Now they’re turning around and pulling the rug out from under Fran. He chose to walk on at Iowa. I’m gonna guess he could have walked on at Kentucky if he would have wanted to.
Ya mean this is going to favor the blue bloods....who woulda thunk it?Fran's "under the radar" approach may start to backfire with the new transfer rules. Out of state kids come in, develop, then leave for perceived bigger, better programs.
Greyshirtwalk on at Iowa?
Guess whois back!Ya mean this is going to favor the blue bloods....who woulda thunk it?
I also hope his foot problems stick with him his entire career and Cal keels over during a game.I hope CJ's entire family gets fucked.
Also hope that volleyball player CJ was dating dropped him because he was too chunky
What a punk ass bitch. One of my favorite moments in recent Iowa basketball was when CJ told a Brevin Pritzl to “get the fuck out of my gym” after a Iowa Wisconsin game before Covid. Fuck him for being such a pussy.I hate to be that guy, but what the fuck are we teaching kids / young men at this point? There are going to be generations of flighty flaky fucks with no principles that don't have a backbone or sense of loyalty.
Yep.I’ve been one of the few consistently saying IDGAF about the players freedoms, NIL, Etc.
All this shit does is make a mediocre product to watch even worse.
In the end I’m the consumer of this shit & every year I watch less of it. Throw in the worst officiating of any sport on the planet & if it’s not Iowa I didn’t watch a single minute.
I will now predict that with this level of player movement/freedom we will eventually see some schools quit playing basketball. They simply won’t have the time, money, etc to recruit 8 guys every year. Not at the P5 level but definitely small programs.
God help us all if(more likely when) it ruins cfb.
You should absolutely be that guy, we need more people being that guy. I've long been of the opinion that's I'd prefer coaches like Fran and Kirk who actually take that part of coaching seriously and try and do the right thing instead of being sleazy with the "win at all costs" mentality.I hate to be that guy, but what the fuck are we teaching kids / young men at this point? There are going to be generations of flighty flaky fucks with no principles that don't have a backbone or sense of loyalty.
I tend to ignore most of Shawnee's takes from the margins of rational thought, but this is where I'm at. Throw in the fact that cheating is rampant and overlooked by those that are supposed to police it.I’ve been one of the few consistently saying IDGAF about the players freedoms, NIL, Etc.

Technically, we have 8 (hopefully Kenyon just miscounted and there isn't any more news coming) plus 2 incoming freshmen. Still, 10 players is still pretty light considering some of them are unknowns at this point. There's no reason to call out fans for being concerned about the roster at this point.7 isn't exactly a great starting point.
10 Mulvey1 Murray
2 Murray
3 Joe T
4 Connor
5 Pat
6 Perkins
7 Ogundele
8 Sandfort
9 Ulis
LOL. Son, Brother, Dad, Winner. Yea, ok.I am tying to remember a bigger douchebag. This is the sort of guy you are dealing with....
