lol, did nazi that coming.
But then Texas Tech could become winnable.Might be a double whammy for Iowa State. Texas gets a good coach, and TJ's Wisconsin recruiting gets tougher.
Difficult to understand his offer list. Or lack there of.Emarion Ellis
Could Texas cut Marquette a deal on the buyout?A friend of mine is a huge Texas fan and has connections to the program. He told me on Monday that there was talk of Texas trying to get Marquette to hire Shaka.
Is that possible? Is that something that gets done? Did my buddy just pull a random 'what if' out of his pocket and simply luck-out when it actually happened?
Could they? Absolutely.Could Texas cut Marquette a deal on the buyout?
This has been rumored for a week as a decent possibility. Like Doug said, good for all sides. Shaka goes back home to a Big East school with big resources. Both sides avoid a bad end and get a fresh start.A friend of mine is a huge Texas fan and has connections to the program. And hopefully Wisconsin's Wisconsin recruiting as well.Might be a double whammy for Iowa State. Texas gets a good coach, and TJ's Wisconsin recruiting gets tougher.
Hopefully they can cover it
How often is the best coach at the worst school in a conference? When is the last time a coach left one school to work for another in the same conference?
No, I will not DMOFR.
Nobody really gives a shit about basketball in Texas, despite the fact they have good teams down there (Baylor, Houston, etc.)Austin is so weird with basketball. Was downtown Austin during its tournament game and saw one person in Longhorn gear. Some bars had other games playing on most the screens.
Tubby went from Georgia to Kentucky, but that was over 20 years ago. When is the last time a coach left one school to work for another in the same conference?
No, I will not DMOFR.
different sport but Sarkisian did this with Washington/USC in 2014When is the last time a coach left one school to work for another in the same conference?
No, I will not DMOFR.
Also Dan Mullen went from Mississippi State to Florida in 2018.different sport but Sarkisian did this with Washington/USC in 2014
WV wasn’t in the Big 12 at the timeHuggins from Kansas State to West Virginia
Jamie must not have called, Shaka would never turn down a blue blood.
I stand corrected.WV wasn’t in the Big 12 at the time
I'm guessing so. Probably keeps DJ Carton at Marquette alsoWouldn’t Ellis likely just go to Marquette?
So Ellis might not go there?I'm guessing so. Probably keeps DJ Carton at Marquette also
Yaklich is head coach at UIC nowThe coach that turned Michigan’s defense around under Beilein was working under Smart at Texas...maybe he follows Smart to Marquette...maybe Fran should give him a call.
No dynamic player wants that style. And hopefully Wisconsin's Wisconsin recruiting as well.
God Bless Tyler Herro! No dynamic player wants that style.
He’s actually the head coach at UI-C nowThe coach that turned Michigan’s defense around under Beilein was working under Smart at Texas...maybe he follows Smart to Marquette...maybe Fran should give him a call.
God Bless Tyler Herro!
I've shared this before, but was shocked early going to a game where Texas was ranked #5 in the country playing a conference home game and the arena was maybe 1/3rd full. They had a pre-recorded message from Rick Barnes they would play after the first media timeout that told everyone in the upper bowl to come down and find any seat they wanted in the lower bowl and the only caveat was to be a good Texan and move if the seat holder actually showed up.Austin is so weird with basketball. Was downtown Austin during its tournament game and saw one person in Longhorn gear. Some bars had other games playing on most the screens.
5 white boys but they not NSYNCGod Bless Tyler Herro!
I thought this was a really interesting Maryland hoops discussion between Scott Van Pelt and Kevin Sheehan - covering the vagaries of the tournament and coaching issues. Maryland and Iowa seem to be in similar circumstances.Turgeon has been ok at Maryland but never better than that. I assume their fans hate him.
Is the arena easy to get to? Everyone I know in Austin hates driving in that city
If I were driving by there, I'd assume that thing was full of some type of petroleum product.
It absolutely blows my mind. How the fuck can you not have everything but the signature on paper?I’m consistently amazed by these schools that will pay 8 figure buyouts without having a replacement mostly lined up.
