I’m a huge Fran guy but those people think that because Fran was recruiting Theo without reporters knowing that he must have all of these other secret recruits that just don’t speak to the media about Iowa. Oh I agree. I think Iowa was definitely at a disadvantage. But I also don’t believe that every single transfer worth a shit got a NIL deal. There are a lot of schools in college basketball that don’t have NIL platforms in place.

I do for the most part trust Fran to decide whether a certain guy is worth bringing in. I just think it’s la la land to say Fran was super active in the portal and was in on a bunch of guys that for some reason kept it a secret that Iowa is recruiting them.

With Iowas Swarm Collective it sounds like Iowas bball players will get at least $1k/month beginning this fall and hopefully more, along with the possibility of deals with businesses worth potentially a lot more.

Don’t doubt it especially early on. I think he was at the back end of the top 100 ESPN list when he originally entered the portal but several other higher profile guys entered after. The Athletic has a top 78 list and he isn’t included.
