SMU got a football "death penalty" decades ago for illegal payments to players by boosters, in amounts that now seem laughable. Those wealthy boosters now have no effective limits. Iowa is never going to be able to compete with Texas schools with oil money from wealthy boosters.
There’s a school a hour and a half from Iowa City that has all the same negatives and has been to 4 sweet sixteens with three coaches in the last 10ish years. They also have a top ten team coming back next year. With a collective that’s run by a dwarf.

It’s never been easy at Iowa but to act like we can’t compete at all is for losers.

His dipshit sons were massive faggots to fans and then whined like bitches when people stopped coming to games. Fuck them
Not to mention Fran has gotten rid of virtually every opportunity for fans to engage with the program that previously existed. I think Fran’s a great dude but I don’t know anyone who is excited for Iowa basketball these days

Wouldn't want to get worse, because that happened when they let Tom Davis go. So we'll just continue to ngaf about whatever large Marge is telling Fran to do.

He was talking about targeting a specific transfer. Nobody is saying Iowa shouldn't compete on the court, but if Iowa and SMU are going after the same player in the portal, one who happened to play on four high school teams and is about to play for his third college, Iowa isn't likely to match the money SMU will offer.

Fran has reached his expiration date. Don’t dislike him, but no longer have any enthusiasm for the product he brings to the table.

Doug would be rolling over in his theater recliner if he were around to see this.

I wish the state tournament was played at the McLeod center
I concur. Attended tonight's UNI vs. Drake volleyball game at the McLeod Center...that place is really nice and would be a much better venue than Wells Fargo is for state hoops.

McLeod is really nice, I am just not sure why UNI still has an athletic department.
