10k is the right size for college basketball moving forward. It's about the atmosphere, not how many people you can shove in a bowl that are so far away the players look like ants
When I worked at UNC I went to a lot of games in the Dean Dome and other than top 10 matchups it was pretty ho-hum. When I went to Cameron Indoor to watch the game it was a whole different and exciting experience. That place is less than half the size of the Dean Dome and was such a better experience.

Besides the Indiana game, the Iowa defense hasn’t covered an opponents over total in Big Ten play. This is getting close to Iowa Football 2023 with the under in points.

I'll say it again, I want McCollum. 21-2 now, first in the MVC, doing it all with only one returning player in the rotation. 4 Division II National Championships.

He can clearly coach his ass off, elite talent acquisition is the only question mark.

Just bring in a couple sleazy recruiters and 15-20 prostitutes and let's do work son

The talent acquisition and staff are the big questions especially from his level. If you watched their games you’d have some Lick PTSD. A bunch of white guys playing extremely slow. They’re the slowest paced team in the country by almost two possessions per game. Last night was the slowest game nationally in a couple years. Stirtz is a stud but the majority of their offense is walk it up, ball screen(s) and him make a great read. He’s a stud.

@AZmessDAWG or anyone have insight on his style at Northwest? He might just be playing this way out of necessity and lack of depth. They rebound like crazy and force a bunch of turnovers.

The last three years they averaged low to mid 70s in ppg.

They've only scored under 60 twice and are 21-2.

It's not like they are consistently in the 40s and 50s.

I like winning

I do too. He can coach his ass off but I would wonder abt his recruiting ability.

If it is a situation where McCollum is the guy, I'd hope he would either find his own assistants that are well connected to high level regional AAU circuits or retain guys like Gatens (experience recruiting in Iowa/midwest) and Spurlock who has really shown to be an up and coming recruiter for Fran. You might have a chance at retaining some current players and possibly Lewis.

Ben McCollum

Pros:

Extremely successful.
Quite Svelte.
Just watching Drake, even his white players don't seem like limp-wristed wieners.
L.Wade will be proven wrong again.
I think he is right about the KC area being under recruited.
If his success translates, I think he is likely to stick around.

Cons:

Horrible hair.
Little D1 experience.
Pace doesn't matter when good, but if bad, it will be an awful watch.
Wish it didn't matter, but listening to a few interviews, his personality doesn’t come across as a guy who would fire up the donors.
