She’s going to be fine but I don’t see anything that really separates her from anyone else on the team. Stremlow was more ready to contribute last year as a freshman than Deal is.

With Wright out for tomorrow's game, Deal will probably get plenty of playing time to see what she can do. She'll probably be the primary back up at PG and SG.

That game was a mess. Miami played some… “aggressive” defense, especially in the second half. Three fouls calls total in the fourth before the intentional fouls started was laughable. Women’s officials are out of their depth.

The crowd was 95% Iowa and 75% geriatric.

Yeah, but I wouldn't read much into that. Deal got 4 minutes the prior game and then 15 minutes this game. Seems like they will mix whoever works best.

Last night they were just trying to hang on against a team they were 14 point favorites against without a starting PG, so the last thing they needed was a turnover machine. Scoring wasn't the issue, so Rodriguez sat.

She'll be very valuable in games where they need someone who can get their own shot.
