Hope you’re right. WVA AD being McCollum’s AD at NW Mizzou would be the most Iowa outcome ever.

DeVries is a fine candidate.. but not to the extent that Indiana should get into a bidding war to obtain his services...
makes no sense.

Well their last two hires weren't exactly awe inspiring. Mike Woodson was a WTF hire imo.

He's more than a fine candidate. He's about as good as it gets most years. Was considered a top level assistant that turned down mulitple head coach opportunities in 20 years at Creighton in building that program, had never before seen success at a marginal at best program at Drake, and then already has shown in one year the ability to recruit and coach in a top level conference. that's not a "fine" candidate.

FWIW, Kakert seemed to confirm Iowa is moving on in their coaching search. Looks like it will not be Devries. Hurry up and lose Drake.

Too late. This public debacle is devastating news for the program. No coach worth a shit it taking this job, and McCollum will have much better options.

What an all time fuck up by Beth. You don't fire Fran unless you had your guy locked up. We would be 100x better off keeping Fran than getting left at the alter by a home state dream job guy.

This is absolutely going to bury Iowa at the bottom of the Big Ten going forward.

Lol, all because of that stupid Michigan State stare down game 2 years ago. If they lose that like they should 99 times out of 100, they implode and miss the NCAA Tourney and Fran gets fired last year and DeVries waltzes into the Iowa job with zero issues.

Now they are completely fucked and Fran is likely going to get some job and make the tourney within 2 years at his new home.

1. Apparently it wasn’t his dream job.
2. There were two clear candidates. If we lose on him, it’s time to freak out. People on that donor call Friday got the sense that she preferred Ben.
