So not only have we played nothing but chalk in every fucking tournament since 1987, we are the only team since the 64 team era that had to play a team that got a bye (and were lower seeded at that). God hates Iowa basketball.

That whole stretch is sad and infuriating. Iowa had the National Player of the Year and ranked Top 20 and the season is shut down and the 2020 tournament never happens. Then they get a really good team back and a #2 seed and promptly get their dicks kicked in by Oregon in a ridiculous situation. 2022 they finish strong and get a #5 seed and can't even fucking beat Richmond.

Worst of all though was putting Iowa fans through 7 years of his dickhead sons, especially when he played them over superior players.

I had no problem with Connor, he played with effort and toughness and passed the ball. He wasn't special, but you need role players.

Patrick on the other hand made me hate the game of basketball. He plays like an uninterested kid who was forced to play basketball because he was tall, the complete opposite of the coach's kid sterotype. No fire, no competitive drive, just a passive dude with mediocre skills roaming around a basketball court. He's the #1 reason that I mostly stopped watching a couple of years ago.

Nothing to do with being from Iowa...I think Gatens is a good coach...when he is working with guys he seems to get them to buy in to what he is wanting them to do and why.

Spurlock provably keeps Josh Lewis and has been a big improvement in recruiting. He was also really well liked and respected as a skill development guy from what I’ve heard.

Gatens worked for DeVries, would make sense if he wanted to retain him on multiple levels. Might keep one, can’t imagine keeping two.

Fran wants to keep coaching. He's going to get another job quickly is my guess and he might end up taking the two Moline rats along with him and a couple of the incoming recruits. There will be some desperate high majors with NIL money that would take a shot on him.

We also all need to be real today about this... IowaMen'sBasketballFan is one of the worst out there. Downright stupid, actually. Student support has been awful long before Fran. It's not exactly a great job. We are lucky to not be buried at the bottom of the conference every single year.
