For some reason I can't copy the tweet, but Matt Norlander is reporting DeVries is getting just under 5 million per, but Indiana is trying to secure 7 million for NIL.

It sounds like its 7 million NIL plus revenue sharing (2.5 mil), so almost 10 million all in.

It wasn’t that long ago that DeVries was getting passed over for jobs.

Supposedly the three biggest NIL spenders this year were Indiana, Arkansas, and Kansas State. Only one made the tournament and Arkansas was squarely on the bubble.

The issue for NIL is that basketball team salaries should be like the NBA . Great teams have 2-3 elite players (who get more than half of the totL salary) and then role guys. However in college the elite players will be one and dones. So schools are throwing over a million at guys like Owen Freeman who are properly a role player when in shape and not a bitch on a contender level team.

There's gonna be multiple players from Iowa that are gonna make double that next year
If that number is 3 players, that’s $1.8 million….and we saw what that the end result of that was a bad product.

What a world we live in. These $$$ numbers are insane, for both players and coaches.

Anyone who donates any amount of money this shit is stupid unless you’re Oprah rich and it’s essentially like spending a couple bucks to you. Like Larry Ellison with the Michigan qb
Are you not rounding up when you get you ice cream helmet?

The supposed number is $2M with the caveat that you have to take all of them with a grain of salt.
Plus we have yet to see that list that one Asshole “agent” threatened to put out of the teams that still owe players a lot of money!!!!!

I am not a rounder. Though I don’t advertise that fact. Not because I feel pressure to do it, but because I don’t want to be associated with the people all over the internet who think companies do it so they can write off your donations.

People are donating large sums of money to this shit because they saw someone from a mid major that averaged 14 ppg and put out a 2 minute highlight video at noon was interested in their school.

They had no idea this person existed while eating breakfast that morning.

I still love TOS because it’s Dork Central. If you donate $20 / month to the collective you can get a “badge” by your screen name and if you don’t have one there is badge shaming.

Cade reportedly got $600k total right? If you donated $20 /month for his entire two years here and you pretend that all of your money went to the quarterback and not monsters protege who left after taking 100k you can claim 1.22 passing yards (rounded up) as being due to your financial contribution.

and you get an imaginary badge. What a deal.

I have trouble believing that he got that much when Dickinson got what, $1M?

These numbers are ridiculous.

Trilly says he heard we’re offering salary around $3.5M and NIL in the $5-6M range with rev share included. Said they’ve done a great job getting numbers up. Might have had him until IU swooped in hard this weekend.

So opposite of everything Wade is saying.

Hopefully that money wasn't only there for DeVries. Provide enough for McCollum and his biggest question mark goes away.

Those numbers, if true, are not actually that bad. That NIL range is exactly where WVU is at from those initial reports. That should put Iowa close to middle of the pack in the BIG. Not great, but doable with a McCollum type coach.
