Those numbers, if true, are not actually that bad. That NIL range is exactly where WVU is at from those initial reports. That should put Iowa close to middle of the pack in the BIG. Not great, but doable with a McCollum type coach.

It’s too soon to start shitting on Beth. She likely had a strong reason to believe Devries was going to take the job. Indiana, who can have almost anyone they want, wasn’t something that she likely dreamed was a possibility for Devries.

McCollum can coach his balls off, surely had several offers to leave D2 before leaving for Drake. He strikes me as a guy that is going to be extremely picky when taking the next step. I’m not optimistic that Iowa’s underwhelming financial position is going to entice a calculated guy like McCollum. The salary bump would be nice, but he could’ve chased more money years ago instead of winning endless D2 national titles. Perhaps $3.5 million is enough to override his practical nature.

I don’t think he takes the Iowa job. Hope I’m wrong.
