I thought the hold up was that House will be signed in on Monday (or something) and then players will know what all schools have to spend?

The settlement also requires the athletes to have their fair market value approved on anything over $600. Will obviously be challenged in court but locking the deals now prevents them from having to report it.

It's already a thing. Here in South Carolina, high schoolers can earn NIL. It's got some strings to it, but it's there.

$3 million for a guy that can’t get his own shot or isn’t a top three option for a top 25 team is insanity.

Dix at $1.5 for a year is worth it for a team that is one piece away from contending.

I’m pretty certain they had no interest in retaining IJA. Stories of him being a disappointment on multiple levels. Not sure on Seydou but it didn’t sound like he was all that coachable.

I don’t think it’s an accident that he only referred to the three holdovers repeatedly.

None of these guys are worth close to this much money. It looks like McCollum will re-start with Koch (and maybe the Miami transfer) and an entire new roster.

Yes Michael, none of the Franny boys are worth that kind of bucks, we all have seen the results the last two years. Good for them, take the money and run, because the only NBA court you will see will be G-League or in Romania.

Wow, that's riveting a coaching staff that their team finished 15th out 18 teams in the big this year, got bounced from the illustrious NIT in the second-round last year, umm not exactly getting a warm fuzzy from their judge of talent here. Good luck to all the Franny boys and to Franny himself at the helm of the Quakers at the Palestra, great venue reminds me of the Pit in Albuquerque.

I think without a “big” pickup the roster probably has a ceiling of “Sweet 16 with a fortunate draw” but people are severely underestimating the value of guys who know how to play together and play with their coach. That’s going to carry you through a lot of January/February games against teams that haven’t gelled or are splintering in the locker room

And when you are having to use the portal to fill basically the entire roster, there’s only so much money to throw around. These guys bring an understanding of the scheme and he has certainty over how they’ll fit in and knowing exactly what they bring.

If it’s not them in these spots, and on this budget, you’re dealing with a lot more unknowns in several aspects.
