I'm sure McCollum is aware that Gatens/family forced out The Criminal. Yeah, Todd was shitty, but if I was taking over the IA BB program, I would do the sane thing as Ben. Gotta cut ties with that history.
As far as Kingsbury, maybe he was told that he wouldn't get much playing time. I hardly believe coach told him to kick rocks unless there's something coach knows about him that we don't.

kingsbury should never play. if he had some delusion that he would play as much as he did this season he needed to leave. maybe he just wanted to go and actually play good minutes somewhere smaller for a year too

Just watching his highlights, his passing really stands out. He kinda reminds me of the fat mustachioed guy from Loyola who lit up Kofi Cockburn in the tournament a few years ago.

He grew a lot in the last year/year and a half. There’s a chance he redshirts to give him more time to develop.

This is dumb. McCollum is one of us. Therefore he is forever grateful for Gatens’ part in removing The Criminal.

This is retarded. He didn't offer Gatens an assistant position, because he had other guys he preferred. That's it.

At one time, when a good chunk of the roster stuck around during a coaching change, it was pretty common to keep a coach from the previous staff. Gatens likely would have been that guy. Those days are over.
