There are a number of current high school players with decent offers. Not that they care about an Iowa game in Des Moines.

After additional thought i have two leading theories:

1. He played along for long enough to receive some initial NIL payout after which he absconded. This seems really stupid. But possible.

2. He had some academic problem that prevented his matriculation.
