I’m choosing to trust that this kid can move a little bit if Tim is in on this

- High ceiling quarterback who looks primed for a big senior year.
- Big framed pocket passer pushing 6-foot-5 with plenty of room to fill out and add good weight.
- Has one of the cleanest strokes out West, smooth, easy delivery and the ball jumps out of his hand.
- Generates plenty of velocity with a flick of the wrist and can get it out from different arm angles.
- Most comfortable in the pocket but shows some ability to make throws rolling right or left and has some twitch in his game.
- Two-sport athlete with a basketball background and is fluid in how he moves.
- Shows excellent touch and timing on the deep ball and when combined with his size and arm talent, has one of the bigger upsides of any QB in the region.

i like the 'cleanest strokes' part...

That’s a huge flip. He was not really listing or considering Iowa last year and was dead set for Miami until his visit.

We need one of these good TE prospects to turn into a stud

Ostrenga is ok but it would be better if they told him to transfer rather than by default give him the most snaps next year

These types of recruiting successes would seem to indicate Kirk will be staying around a little longer, correct?

Same. Being a walk on redshirt frosh, vohnamme has been great. But I expected they would have gotten the highly recruited guys more action. If we're not going to sign 4 star receivers, then we need stud tight ends.

Clark, Kittle, Myers, Laporta, Hockenson. How many TEs has Iowa had that recruiting profile and offers were meaningless?

Iowa has 3 other TE that had very impressive offer lists out of HS. I’m just saying I’m surprised those guys haven’t gotten more snaps
Vonnhame, despite being a walk on, is already a stud and beat out the others by Spring ball this year. One of the highly touted TE recruits transffered b/c of t his.

It's interesting no one offered Vonnahme. His bio is basically textbook what Iowa looks for:

Career -- Played a variety of offensive positions in high school, throwing for 1,803 yards and 25 touchdowns, rushing for 652 yards and 14 touchdowns and totaling 697 receiving yards and 14 scores... also played safety on defense, recording 11 interceptions and scoring two defensive touchdowns... multi-sport athlete, also lettering three years in basketball, and two years in soccer and track… starter on basketball team that qualified for state as a junior... qualified for Iowa state track meet (Class 2A) as a senior in the 100m, and qualified for both the 100m (finished eighth) and 200m as a junior.

Who are the highly recruited guys you’re referring to? Meyer but he’s a true freshman and they just talked yesterday about getting him more snaps.

TE has a lot of variables. A lot of our studs came in with lesser profiles and we’ve had a lot of high profile guys wash out or transfer.

I mean, if you can play...

I don’t watch highschool highlights anymore unless Chip suggests I should, but this guy clearly is a badass.

i confused brewer with the jacobson kid in the 2026 class. didnt realize he was a texas a&m commit
Even living in the METRO I guess I didn't hear that much about Jacobson. Was there any reason given why Iowa didn't offer, or wasn't interested.

i know his extended family has ties to iowa and iowa state but likely one of those deals where a kid wants to just get out of the midwest. he had no shortage of options. but i agree theres been very little attention for a recruit of his caliber.
