Perkins was one of the most frustrating players of the Fran era. Excellent at times, completely disengaged at others. Similar to Alvaro in some ways. Very inconsistent and not someone you can count on to be a leader in your program.

Fran was obviously pissed that he wasn’t getting support from Iowa donors and was probably lying as 1) a way to try and drum up donations and 2) an excuse as to why Iowa wasn’t landing better players. As has been said already, who cares? Perkins wasn’t worth it and Fran’s time was up. I’ll happily welcome both back into Carver some day but Iowa is in a much better spot now and it’s ok to appreciate Fran for what he was.

I had been sick of Fran and his little sons of a bitches (literally) for years. I finally get what I wanted and we were immediately rewarded with an Elite 8 run and a complete embarrassment for Connor. It's fun to joke about Fran's limitations and while I agree what he did in your above situation was pretty stupid and kind of crummy, it also is a great reminder why Big Dick Beth canned his lazy ass.
