Da Dawg!!!!!!Wow. How stupid. The guy single-handedly wins two games for us in the tournament and now we let him walk.
You could tell pretty early what kind of play you were going to get from him in any given game. It don’t look like Saturday was going to be his night immediately.I thank him for his service in the NCAA tournament, but that guy is frustrating as hell to watch. Some games, he has it and others he completely disappears. I had too high of expectations I think. Not pissed at him at all though, he helped create some great memories but I'll gladly let another school overpay for that next year.
I overheard someone at baskins robbins last night that Iowa's NIL budget is at $9.6 million for next season. That's the unfortunate reality of NIL and Iowa basketball. Iowa has to spend their limited budget wisely.
Especially because even keeping your own players gets more and more expensive. Koch and Sage alone are going to need to be paid something more, even with a home town discount. Have to flip them a few hundred grand more each just to be fair. Each of them are $1m+ players if they hit the open market. That's the unfortunate reality of NIL and Iowa basketball. Ah, the offseason. A constant reminder of how badly and irreparably fucked up college athletics have become.
Dear Mr. Folgueiras,
We regret to inform you that our donors cannot afford to pay for your name, image and likeness next year because the donors (definitely without our input) have unilaterally decided to spend that money on someone else's name, image and likeness. Don't get us wrong, we'd like to have your name, image and likeness again next year, but we're afraid that there are only so many names, images and likenesses our donors can afford. One thing we can all agree on, this is definitely all about name, image and likeness and is in no way an unregulated pay-for-play system directed by Coach McCollom and the athletic department. We wish you the best, and hope that another university finds value in your name, image and likeness. P.S., thank you for making the most important shot our program has made in decades nine days ago. That was awesome.
Stirtz had his moments too and never left the court.I truly hope he has success at his next stop and will actually be rooting for him based on what he gave us in those last few games. But you could tell McCollum was always frustrated as hell with him. He’s really the only guy that had frequent moments of “soft” or “moody”, which McCollum despises.

Yes I think that was definitely a factor. It's best for both of them to move on. Too bad but we move on. You saw the post- game presser where they jawed a bit after the FLA win - you could see some tension there.I truly hope he has success at his next stop and will actually be rooting for him based on what he gave us in those last few games. Don't tell me what I could do!You could tell pretty early what kind of play you were going to get from him in any given game. It don’t look like Saturday was going to be his night immediately.
I had a professor tell me “don’t use the word “you” in your essays. Leave me out of it.”Don't tell me what I could do!
Yes of course. Let's compare the all big ten PG we begged for with Fran to a guy who sucked probably about 60% of the time.Stirtz had his moments too and never left the court.

Why did you have her tell you that? That’s weird.I had a professor tell me “don’t use the word “you” in your essays. Leave me out of it.”
I failed to heed her advice. My apologies.
It’s not about finding money to pay Alvaro.Have to take advantage of that senior year pay day. He will probably never make as much as what his NIL pay will be next year.
It's too bad. If we cant find $$ pay Alvaro I just don't see how we get better next year.
Stirtz was playing closer to free than to his actual NIL value for us, plus coop and Tate sage got more expensive.

They have plenty of guys to fill that role. Koch/Harris/Thompson/Sage. What they need are guards and a true center. They can put that money towards one of those.Have to take advantage of that senior year pay day. He will probably never make as much as what his NIL pay will be next year.

It has nothing to do with finding $$ to pay Alvaro.Have to take advantage of that senior year pay day. He will probably never make as much as what his NIL pay will be next year.

Shut the fuck up, Wisconsin fan.ISU had success by having an all-american point guard who was great but not good enough to go pro, stay in his hometown for 4 years. That ain't happening again anytime soon.
Him and Lee really must hate each otherShut the fuck up, Wisconsin fan.
I’m sorry I don’t speak mouth breathing retard. I only speak mild retard. Can you get to the level?Him Lee really must hate each other
I didn’t know the profs were that snarky at Hamburger U.I had a professor tell me “don’t use the word “you” in your essays. Leave me out of it.”

4. We were only using 14 scholarships this year.So assuming Al leaves and if Banks cannot return we will have 3 spots to fill correct?
I count 4 (3 if you think Coon comes)So assuming Al leaves and if Banks cannot return we will have 3 spots to fill correct?
Doesn't matter. Can only have 15 people on the roster. All can be scholarship.Pmac could be taken off scholly as convenient. Also have to imagine j koch can be demoted to walk on also as needed. Seems like we have as many schollies as we can use.
