If that is the case, doesn't seem to matter in the year 2026. He can just take that money to the portal in the spring and/or keep Kael Combs around for another year with Coleman instead of sending him off with the new NCAA rules.

Worst case is they just run it back with the same backcourt and try again in 2027.

I remember Bobby Knight saying the in 80s that players don't choose coaches as much as they choose institutions/traditions. There's something too that -- Iowa's a tough sell, and always has been.

It's nothing like the 80s. It all about money and if it's close some kids will choose to stay close to home. Iowa is a tough sell because they don't have the deepest pockets. I don't really see Arkansas, BYU, Louisville, Baylor as traditional blue bloods but they seem to be in on alot of top 20 kids these past few years for some reason.
