Brock Harding and Pryce a combined 0-10 to start their careers at their new schools. Brock feels right at home as his TCU team has given up 44 first half points to New Orleans in a game they trail by 16 at the half.
Brock losing the New Orleans Privateers is extra special.

I can't fathom seeing a bunch more of that from Traore, but who knows what he is. Fran was quick on the trigger with pulling him after bone headed plays.

36 minutes for Brock
seems like a bold strategy
The guy shot like 46% from 3 at Moline his senior year.

Didn't bring that with him to college, I guess

I thought it would be interesting to track the FranMac diaspora:

1. Owen Freeman: The Big Owie transferred to Creighton with his bosom buddy Dix (figuratively) (presumably only Dix actually still breast feeds on his mommy). Didn't start. played 19 minutes. scored 19 points on 9/11 shooting. Only 4 rebounds. 1 block. Solid performance, about what you'd expect. Will be interesting to see how he manages to avoid playing this year.

- FranMac Diaspora Grade: B+

2. Joshua Dix: As most of us know, the big D transferred to Creighton. They've played 1 game so far. 26 minutes, 11 points. 1/3 from deep and 4/6 overall. 11 points, 3 rebs, 1 block. I assume Creighton hoped for more from this senior guard likely being paid a good deal of money. But he's back in the warm embrace of mommy again and you can't put a Pryce on that (that's called 'foreshadowing').

- Fran Mac Diaspora Grade: B-

3. Seydou Traore: Seydou transferred to Utah. Mixed bag so far. started both games. in first game: 28 minutes, 23 points on an astounding 5/8 three pointers, and 9/22 overall. 1 rebound, 3 assists, 4 steals and 2 blocks. Pretty amazing frankly albeit against Weber State. Second game: really an equally amazing stat line of 34 minutes, 0 points, 3 rebounds, 1 asst, 1 steal, 1 block. His shooting 'cooled off' at 0/7 from three and 0/8 overall. Bizarre. And weirdly similar to Pryce Sandfart's performance. But fits with what was always apparent for Seydou, namely good talent but terrible fundamentals.

- FranMac Diaspora Grade: C+

4. Pryce Sandfart: Pryce transferred to University of Nebrantska, Lincoln. Mixed bag so far after two games. 20 points in 21 minutes against Florida International on 6/9 three pointers. 3 points in 21 minutes against West Georgia. didn't see the games but we'll assume he's bringing his hard nosed defense as always. Fits with what was always apparent for Pryce, namely good talent but soft as Josh Dix spit-up on his momma's tits.

- Fran Mac Diaspora Grade: C

5. Ladji Dembele: Ladji transferred to UNLV. Surprisingly he's actually starting and getting minutes at 23 per game through 2 games. Not surprisingly UNLV appears to be bad, dropping a game to "UT Martin". Basically giving 8 pts 4 rebs per game.

- FranMac Diaspora Grade: D+

6. Riley Mulvey: Riley transferred to Sienna for what is hopefully his fifth and final year of college basketball. This appears to be a more appropriate level for Riley - he's not starting and averaging 11 minutes per game over the first two games for Sienna. He had 7 points and 4 boards in Sienna's second game. We won't mention the first game. Seems like a nice guy, let's leave it at that.

- FranMac Diaspora Grade: D

7. Brock Harding: Brock transferred to the TCU Horney Frogs for the '24-'25 season. Through two early games against the likes of "UNO" and "SFPA", which i assume are college basketball teams of some kind, it's been a mixed bag, to put it optimistically. On the positive side the former Illinois Mr. Basketball is averaging 5.5 assists and zero turnovers per game. On the negative side he is averaging 3 points per game, having been blanked against the fighting SFPAs. Brook is shooting 12.5% from the field this year. His 3 point shooting isn't as good at 0% (0/7). He is getting serious minutes, starting, averaging 30+ mpg so far. We can assume his defense is typically incompetent but to his credit he's accumulated 8 steals over these first two games.

- Fran Mac Diaspora Grade: D-

8. Isaiah Johnson-Arigu (herein "Arigu"): Part of the fabled "Fab Fran" recruiting coup of 2025 which some idiots actually felt merited keeping Fran Mac around for, Arigu transferred to St. Thomas, which reportedly is in the Summit League, which reportedly "is an NCAA Division I intercollegiate athletic conference with its membership mostly located in the Midwestern United States." Who knew? Arigu is averaging 17 minutes a game. 5.5 points a game. like other members of the diaspora he's been feast or famine. In first game - no points or really anything else. In second game 11 points on 1/4 three point shooting. Doesn't seem to be bringing much to the table statistically. Maybe he's like, a good leader, or a gritty defender or something. But let's face it given the Fran Mac pedigree that seems really, really unlikely. 17 minutes per game needs to be producing more than 5 points a game.
- FranMac Diapora Grade: D-

9. Joshua Lewis: the Crown Jewel of the Fab Fran class, Josh Lewis wound up at Louisiana-Lafayette. the formerly highly regarded recruit averages 3 ppg, 4 rpg, and basically nothing else in about 20 minutes per game.

- FranMac Diaspora Grade: F+

10. Dezmon Briscoe: Another member of the Fab Fran class, Briscoe transferred to Kent State. Through two games, Briscoe has sucked, at 5 minutes per game 0 points, and 1 rebound per game.

- FranMac Diaspora Grade: F+

11. Badara Diakite: Fab Franner, transferred to the Saint Louis Billikens. Through two games Diakite has two DNPs for the 2-0 Billikens.

- FranMac Diaspora Grade: F
12. Chris Tadjo: This Canadian sophomore transferred to UC Santa Clara. I've heard it's very nice there. Through two games Tadjo has two DNPs. Seems like a nice guy (i guess?)

- FranMac Diaspora Grade: F-

Jim, you are an absolute moron. Remember when like 3 days ago you said that Cooper Koch would be playing like 12 minutes a game and I told you he was going to start and you were oblivious and then he started and played 26 minutes?

Good call there, buttfuck.

i've heard he may not play at all.

they might start him over tavion first game as "punishment" for tavion's felony convictions. But over time when it becomes apparent coop can't play defense and his lung collapses again and he keeps skipping games to appear in netflix shows i suspect tavion will regain the start.
Jim, you're a moron. That alone by definition proves what you said as not completely accurate.

I had completely erased Tadjo from my brain. Courtney Eldridge had that pre season interview with Stephen Bardo last year where he said Tadjo was the best athlete on the team and his energy would fix their defensive rebounding issues from the prior season.

I watched the first 8 minutes of that game. Pryce is the other one besides Koch I was kind of hoping would stay.

There have been some horrible turnovers and horrendous misses the last 3 minutes in this game.

Turned on the game just in time to see a Baylor fast break where Freeman had a chance to contest, but went into t-rex mode and gave a halfhearted little hop just behind the play instead.

Dix leaving was bad for all parties. We could have used him this year, and he transfered to a team which doesn't appear to be as good.

I guess he made a "business decision" and got paid, but when this is over he will probably admit he should have stayed at Iowa

Looking at the box score...Freeman started, played 9 minutes, scored 4 points, had 1 rebound, 0 assists, 0 blocks, 0 fouls.
He's stealing that money.

Dix and Sandfart are the only ones that would have helped Iowa’s team this year.
Yeah, but I really wouldn't have wanted both given what we have now, and Dix was the more compatible of the two

I think McCollum would have been great for Pryce. He actually played excellent tough nosed defense in high school. Was one of the top rebounders and shot blockers in the state, if I recall. I think he would have adapted nicely.

I’d have taken both in a heart beat. They’re skilled and I’m confident McCollum would have coached them up.

It’s pretty much everyone’s goal to get paid a bunch of money and then mail it in. He accomplished it at age 20, who am I to judge?
