Oh and the streak of keeping teams below their season average continued. UW was averaging 78. Remarkable given the first half.

Ben knows what the fuck he is doing. This team ain’t perfect, but got damn he can coach. Hard to not be excited about this year and the future.
I’m disappointed we didn’t sign a lead guard but I would think Iowa would be pretty attractive for a transfer

17-5, 7-4 with a bunch of afterthoughts.

They only missed 22 shots and had 8 offense rebounds and lost by 10.

A testament to our efficiency which needed to be at the top of it's game tonight

McCollum is a basketball savant.

I don’t want to be the look ahead guy but UCLA, Wisconsin, and Purdue all have a tough stretch coming up. Maybe, if things fall right, the Iowa Purdue game is a battle for 5th place.

The Purdue game is sold out and set up to be a massive launching point for this team and McCollum. Winning that would put fan support on a whole different level.

Worth noting this now on the 5 losses....

- 19 point loss at #10 Michigan State
- 4 point loss at #4 Iowa State
- 3 point loss at Minnesota with everyone sick as a dog (and Gophers have taken out multiple teams there including Michigan State tonight)
- 6 point loss to #5 Illinois
- 7 point loss at #9 Purdue (up 9 in second half)

4 of 5 losses on the road. 4 losses by 7 points or less and were in all of them at the last minute. 4 losses to Top 10 teams including multiple Top 5 teams.

Loved watching the Hawks just be nasty on D the 2nd half and just keep playing their game... They definitely got more physical in the 2nd half, kept up the hustle and energy with better adjustments. Felt like Wash shooting would come back down to earth after their 1st half 77% FG , so we just needed to keep being us, and make the halftime defense adjustments . Fuck ya! Great win. Love coach Mac

5 more Quad 1 games coming up as well in the regular season. Huge opportunities.

vs. Purdue
vs. Nebrantska
@ Wisconsin
vs. Michigan
@ Nebrantska

Possibility that vs. Ohio State could end up being one as well. They are currently #41 in NET.

Take care of business to be 19-5, 9-4 going into the Purdue game that’s sold out on a Saturday afternoon.

With Washington’s size, that was a complete mismatch down low but Iowa was able to adjust. Fun to watch.

This may sound stupid. But that early loss @MSU was huge in regards to Ben’s growth as a coach. Blown the fuck out, a complete mismatch, that game reframed how incredibly difficult and how much effort it takes to win a I am a giant douche road game.

The next road game..at Hilton against a top 10 team. Iowa came out swinging. They were a play or two away from a huge upset.

Since that game, sure they’ve lost in the road, but they haven’t looked overwhelmed. They’ve competed each time out even when they were sick af.

Now they just completed the PNW sweep against a decimated Oregon team and pretty damned talented Washington team.

I’m proud of this team for how they’ve stuck together. The whole is greater than the sum of the parts. And ultimately that leads back to the top.
