Thoughts:
1. That was a really fun game to watch.
2. Fran has been looking for "White Magic", and it's Harding. I don't mind Bowen, but he doesn't add anything. No scoring. No assists. Give his minutes to Harding and let him grow.
3. Perkins need to have the ball when we need points, and he needs to have confidence to go to the basket.
3. Happy to see Patrick play his role. Take the ball to the basket, shoot 3's, and play the front of the press. You're not the answer.
4. Fuck Courtney Green.

I just don't think the starters fit together. Too many reluctant 3 point shooters and mediocre rebounders. I'd rather see Bowen surrounded by more shooting to space the floor so he can take advantage of his dribble drives. I still think this team can make the tourney but Fran needs to tinker with his rotations and play Freeman until he fouls out every game.

Would have been nice to have this 5 second call. Timeout called at 1:19. #55 had already had the ball out of bounds for at least a second. I don’t know that Iowa wins if 100% of the calls are made correctly, but at least get the obvious ones right like the two bogus and-1 calls when we aren’t even in the bonus.

Encouraging night despite the loss. Figure out how to rebound and play defense and we’ll be a sweet 16 team.

Dembele seems like he could be the next Fran special. legit good stroke already, way beyond what I was expecting. Obviously more "athletic" than we usually have in 3/4 hybird guys, and more physically built.

Freeman needs minutes to learn to calm down. He was great, but clearly jittery.

Harding may actually need to score more. He got point blank at the rim with ease. Also as I said in chat that unit needs a kickout three guy. Maybe plan Payton with them more often? It was good shit. Hugely encouraging for htem not to give up any ground when Creighton had their ridiculous 11/11 with 4-5 3s start to the 2nd half on our starers and the starters were gassed at 12:00 timeout.

Also Krikke was great and a weapon this year but I thought they deferred to him too much on long 2s in the second half. That's a great shot if they're giving it to you but never a 1st option goal type shot.

It's kind of funny how much of a big deal triple doubles are in men's basketbal. The KU guy getting one with 12/10/10 was national news. We've gotten a little spoiled with C Clark getting them on the reg to the point its almost nbd.

But I will say McDermott and the CU fans can GFT for going after the refs and booing them stopping play with PS laying in harms way on the floor after he took that hard spill. Iowa had possession of the ball in their own end, so if any team was possibly 'hurt' more by play being stopped, it was the Hawks.

Between Perkins, Bowen and Harding, our guards can get by just about anyone and get into the lane. They rarely finished last night if they even tried and didn’t drop to a big guy at the rim very often either. That’s something Fran will clean up so they aren’t so reliant on the long 2.
