Don't you understand this is what losers do?50-60% of CF is STILL playing the “if it wasn’t for turnovers we would have won.” Of the remaining 40-50%….half of them are thumping their chest over the TOP and Yardage stats. Conservative estimate…70-80% of their fans are mouth breathing idiots that have no idea how the game of football works and without question watch zero games not involving Iowa State.
Also, Indiana has had 6 since Iowa State has had their last (and *only*, btw).If you take it back to 1993 you are then down to one.
If you take it back to 1974 you still have that same one.
135 yards came in the final two drives, too50-60% of CF is STILL playing the “if it wasn’t for turnovers we would have won.” Of the remaining 40-50%….half of them are thumping their chest over the TOP and Yardage stats. At the beginning of the game, they (I think Holly Rowe) even referenced their WORLD CLASS strength coach having Hall and Rose lose weight for this season. I believe the term was less cargo, more horsepower.
The Iowa State game is always the toughest game each year to get a handle on because if you listen to their fans, it sounds like they’ve got future NFL starters at every position. They’ve had terrible-to-mediocre talent for so long, they truly don’t know what top talent actually looks like.Another reason this rivalry isn’t fun; their fans don’t know ANYTHING about football.
Wisconsin is fun. Their fans know the game, and appreciate the similarities in the programs.
Minnesota is more fun. Their fans at least know why every team in that state is consistently wet shit.
Iowa State sucks. They don’t know anything about football. Defense and generating situations where a turnover can occur is luck, how many fumbles they recover is a skill. Garbage time yards are signs of excellence, generating points on a short field is not.
ISU outgained Iowa 339-173 in total yards. Per play, they outgained Iowa 4.8 to 2.9 yards.135 yards came in the final two drives, too
Ironically this year I think they were closest have some NFL guys and we beat them more decisively than usual. The Iowa State game is always the toughest game each year to get a handle on because if you listen to their fans, it sounds like they’ve got future NFL starters at every position. Conversely, how many Iowa fans were foaming at the mouth over the NFL potential of guys like Heflin, Welch or Ojemudia? Hell, Iowa has three guys who weren’t even regular starters on last year’s squad in the NFL now.
There’s just a sizable difference in talent levels and Cyclone fans will never get that.
And you just identified the perception problem that Iowa State fans like Williams tend to have with the idea of "talent." They think it involves about 6 positions, and the other positions aren't about having more talent, they wouldn't even know what more talent looked like at those other positions.Ironically this year I think they were closest have some NFL guys and we beat them more decisively than usual.
The textbook example of this is this classic the 2013 game Williams proclaimed ISU just flat out more talented and "two touchdows"
Iowa's 2013 starters included the following future NFL players Scherff, Fiedorowicz, Blythe, Carl Davis, Hitchens, Kirksey, Morris, Desmond King
Oh and George Kittle was just a RS Fr but started 1 game. Plus Drew Ott, and Van Sloten, Our skill guys back then were kinda woof, except Tevaun Smith.
Any dissing on Iowa St is without question awesome, but ...... "The Brandon Walker College Football Show, with Brandon Walker".
Pretty sure a year or two ago we had 2nd most DB’s in the league of any schoolI also enjoy the Cyclone narrative that it's just "linemen and tight ends" that Iowa puts into the NFL.
Current number of QB/RB/WR in the NFL:
Iowa: 5
Iowa State: 4
Defensive backs:
Iowa: 6
Iowa State: 1
Linebackers:
Iowa: 6
Iowa State: 1
it's barstool. that's the joke.No harm done, @BuffettHawk
I just find it humorous when they have the show host's name in the actual show name more than once. Because only one mention of the host would leave viewers/listeners forgetful without the further reminders.
CW did mention that he was more concerned about UNI than Iowa and, in fairness, they lost to both teams.Ironically this year I think they were closest have some NFL guys and we beat them more decisively than usual.

No he did not…….CW did mention that he was more concerned about UNI than Iowa and, in fairness, they lost to both teams.

What was Creighton’s yards per play last week?ISU outgained Iowa 339-173 in total yards. Per play, they outgained Iowa 4.8 to 2.9 yards.
But 141 of those yards came after Iowa went up 3 scores. Once Iowa went up 3 scores, every drive was a 3 and out. Including the last kneel down, after going up 3 scores Iowa ran 10 plays for 10 yards. So prior to that point, ISU had outgained Iowa 198-163 in yards, for a yards per play advantage of a much more reasonable 4.0-3.3.
And why do you think Iowa gained fewer yards? Maybe the fact that on those drives, Iowa's starting field position was the 45(!) vs the 18 for ISU? In fact, on Iowa's 4 scoring drives, their average starting field position was the Iowa State 42 (!).
Matt Rodgers was Iowa QB in 1990-1991.
FWIW
peace
And he roomed with a bunch of players at Iowa State, so he had “connections”CW doesn't know anything about football. He's just some dude who is willing to devote all his time to getting people to listen to him. He has no actual sports knowledge.
