State funding Iowa is absolutely NOT critical. Not slightly critical, not a little critical. We have a giant budget hole and the actual schools are wildly under-funded.

If ISU can’t survive in that world, then it needs to find a level where it can.

"Quick check showed the state of Iowa brings in 300 million in gambling taxes. If we could get the legislature to peel 100 million of that off and split it 50 ISU 30 Iowa (using their TV rev to justify the differential) and 20 to UNI to keep all 3 universities on better athletic footing.

Wouldn't be perfect but it would be pretty good. IMO."

Yes, let's subsidize/over subsidize the players at a school that's in a dying conference that the market has indicated no interest in. And take it from the general fund which primarily supports education and health care.

Except that’s not what would happen. Iowa has already in some ways subsidized isu. That’s likely what’ll happen

I love this. Single stock risk for market return to hopefully pay for a bloated outdoor mall that’ll cost hundreds of millions of dollars and appreciate at a rate under inflation.
Love ya Larry.

Fiscal conservatives used to get all worked up over throwing good money after bad. Wonder what happened to that?

Can they be more delusional?

So excited to see what Rogers can do. Haven’t been this excited for ISU football in a loooong time.

A mobile QB does worry me though mainly because Kirk's track record of being a dumbfuck against ISU.
This year's game will be over by halftime.

Having his team lose to a Kirk’s son, Brian Ferentz coached offense left that guy with some kind of TBI. It’s really sad to watch.
