Haven't listened to that show for a few years, but, guessing Ty was probably stating that Campbell was a great coach up to this season.

With all the losses so far in CFB, all Campbell had to do was go 10-2 or possibly 9-3 with that schedule and make the playoffs. Instead, 0-4 start the conference with no good wins.

Man…even in the land of rainbows and unicorns that is ISU, I have yet to meet anyone that likes this AD hire. And I feel like I know my fair share of apologists.

hate to see it.

Time will tell. I seem to remember a lot of meh when Ferentz was hired.

Good article. All he needs to do is create more revenue than they have today, while not charging any money to the fans.

Should be easy!

Luckily they're doing this at a time where people can't give money away fast enough

They all worshiped Pollard and they're already doing the "Actually Pollard wasn't great. This new guy though!!!" thing.

"Hope Matt caught today's presser introducing our new AD! Probably makes him wish even more that he had stayed here. Sounds just like the kind of AD Matt would want."

"It comes down to marketing.

At ISU we aren't cutting the biggest check. But he could say your son would get a chance in an environment that will appreciate them. They will get a degree. They will have every opportunity to be the best version of themselves

At PSU it appears to be about only $$, the scoreboard, and whitewashing pedophile culture"

"Wondering if the Rocco Becht logo hats and shirts are selling right now.

Thankful to Matt Campbell for taking Rocco with him to Not So Happy Valley. And Taylor Mouser too."

"Yep exactly, in this business a good coach a decade ago could be a terrible coach today. Campbell was never an X and O guy, Heacock was, and Campbells biggest strength as a program leader and people leader doesnt translate well to Penn State. Ferentz is similar but he was smart enough to stay at Iowa."

"Matt Campbell has been the same coach for over a decade, everything that he is doing at PSU is the same things he did for a decade at ISU. Rocco is the same type of player he has been for years. It is hilarious how clueless that fanbase is as to what they were getting."

"The national perception of MC was he has been successful with less at lowly Iowa State. Just think of what he could do with a real program.

The reality is he is exactly who he has always been and the things they are complaining about would have been obvious if they didn't just believe the National narrative by "experts" who also aren't watching the games."

How soon until we hear that the new administration is "going in a different direction" in regards to Pollard & Light?

I mean, there is no way that thing is going forward....right?

Well, well, well. They all would paid good money to suck Campbell and Rocco’s cocks the past few years. How the turntables.

They'd probably like to ... but who is taking that investment from them and at what price?

I doubt there will be enough of these matchups to force any change to Iowa/ISU. Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and Kentucky all have in state/out of conference games that probably won't go away. That leaves 12 SEC teams available. Hopefully we can get in on these games occasionally, but we won't "need" to.

Going to a 13th game is more likely than forcing Iowa to play 11/12 P4 games

Unless both the SEC & Big Ten embrace going to 11 P4 games to boost revenue in their next round of regular season tv packages.

Yet another of a plethora of real actual reasons to drop Iowa State immediately off the schedule for eternity falls out of the sky and hits us on the head.

This should be a total no-brainer. If you go 9-3 a loss to Tennessee in September will be a lot more palatable to the 24 playoff committee than losing on purpose to Iowa State every other year.

Conversely beating Tennessee in September looks a lot better than a white knuckle field goal fest and needlessly having to squeak by against Iowa state every other year.

End the series immediately.

How much are Pioneer, Principal and other Iowa businesses willing to donate to attend an Iowa v. Tennessee home and home vs. an Iowa State one where they can take clients to both?

Iowa State effectively has no suites or hospitality of any value. I can’t imagine the corporate interest in half the CyHawk games, other than fat Karen in accounting wanting to host a pot luck.

There are suites and boxes at Kinnick, which games do the casual fan clients of those businesses want to attend?

You are all thinking about this as fans of competitive college football not as a business decision, which it all is now. Making the playoffs = $X more. Losing the Iowa State game will lead to a Y% increase in the likelihood of being in the playoffs. (Which again is going to be the difference very seldomly as Iowa is going to already be at about 40% chance in a 24 team playoff over the last two decades. If playing Tennessee instead of Iowa State moves that to 44% is that extra 4% times the benefit of being in the playoffs more than the money they make off the HyVee money from playing Iowa State? I think the $$$ are heavily in favor of playing Iowa State forever. If anything, based on the disparate directions it should at least be 3 games in Kinnick for each one in Ames, but that won't happen either. Or maybe 3 games in Kinnick one in Arrowhead, Lambeau or US Bank.

Beth likes the clownhawk series. Unless it’s forced on Iowa that series is continuing
