Someone pointed out to Ben how bad Iowas defense has been the last month after the Purdue game. It would appear he took that to heart.
Soft team, unlike Fran's teams, according to Wade.Imagine shooting 17-51 from the field and winning
I’m not too down on Koch after this game. It was a defensive slugfest and he had two big 3s to start each half, another bucket and some big FTs.Defense was phenomenal. Offense was shit, but not sure what else McCollum can do there. Koch would be a fantastic #4 shooting option, but he’s the #2 option on this team. Combs has become shit. The random Koch/Combs/Howard/Sage step up each game is flailing lately. But tonight it doesn’t matter. Because we beat those fuckwads from Nebrantska.
Koch is going to go off soon. He played “well” tonight…Combs is lost, I’d rather have Hauser get his minutes.
Cole?Koch is going to go off soon. He played “well” tonight…Combs is lost, I’d rather have Hauser get his minutes.
I’m not down on Koch at all. He’s good and going to be really good IMO. He just “shouldn’t” be the #2 shooter on this year’s team.I’m not too down on Koch after this game. It was a defensive slugfest and he had two big 3s to start each half, another bucket and some big FTs.
Why the fuck did he do thatSage had that 3 rim out.
In that game against MSU, Iowa was 11/40 from the field and 16/29 from the stripe. And the court was stormed.Massive win for the team and this era.
But admittedly that didn’t feel much different than the Lickl1ter win over Sparty.
Yep, and Koch continues to pass up open 3s to take some terrible twos or kick it back out to nothing. At this point I would take Howard and Sage over Combs and Koch. They are more active defensively and on the boards. Everyone is lost offensively so who gives a fuck.Sage had that 3 rim out. He also shot another one from the top confidently (didn’t go in). He doesn’t hesitate like most of the guys not named Stirtz.
I really do enjoy McCollum’s balance between being candid and being a coach. He’s going to succeed at Iowa. The support is growing, even in an ugly win like tonight.
It’s mostly from a stretch where he passed up a couple 3s to drive into the lane and ended up taking a couple horrible shots near the rim. Those plays were so close together that it made it look worse.Koch shot 10 shots and 7 threes. He was one of the few guys other than Stirtz who took some confident shots. I don’t get the bitching about him after this game.
Yeah, that's fair, maybe my issue isn't as much with Koch as it is with Mccollum. It hard to tell a guy that went 3-10 to continue to shoot but he was the one getting the open looks with Stirtz getting all the attention.Koch shot 10 shots and 7 threes. He was one of the few guys other than Stirtz who took some confident shots. I don’t get the bitching about him after this game.
KF is loving that stat.
That’s actually 33.33%, so not technically 33% or worse.
I think part of it is adjusting to the length and close out speed of the big ten. Otherwise it’s really pathetic. It’s obvious he’s ingrained in them pass up a good shot for a great shot. Hes interested in controlling the tempo/pace with shot selection. I get all that. But the number of times that turns into a worse shot than the one the pass up is too many.
I think it’s a confidence/talent issue. Just not a lot of shooters on this team.
no, Fran’s teams were soft too. Get it right!Soft team, unlike Fran's teams, according to Wade.
Oh for the love of fuck you dork, a shithead kid jumped over and into the handshake line to put a phone in his face and scream at Hoiberg, so he swiped at the phone to get him out of there and accidentally tapped a coach. He immediately said sorry to the coach and pointed to the kid being a shithead as why he accidentally did that. It's nothing.Fan yells in Fred’s face, and in response he chops an Iowa assistant coach in the back of the neck?
I don't remember this ever being said by anyone?I demand an audit on anyone who ever compared Stirtz to bohannon.
I'll save someone the time, it was probably me, and it was dumb. I think I called him bohannon with good size. To be fair, bohannon would have been great at 6-4.I don't remember this ever being said by anyone?
Illinois game from a quick search.I don't remember this ever being said by anyone?
