18 year olds aren't exactly known for making great decisions when it comes to stuff like this. It's pretty clear he bought into the hype. If anyone wanted to do a halfway decent deep dive into the two programs, it's Iowa that has come out ahead in player development vs a school that can barely recruit their own guys out of HS but rely on other programs to fill out their roster.

Was just going to post something like this. If I am an Iowa fan, I am happy but also really ticked off because it's so obvious how much Fran and the team put on the ISU game each year. If they brought this kind of effort every night they stepped on the court, you might actually get to see a team contend for a Big Ten regular season or tournament title. This is a lot how ISU fans felt with McCarney's teams. It was great and never got old beating Iowa, but then you turn around and go, "Wait, why the heck can't we bring that effort and beat teams in our conference? Especially when some of the ones we are losing to are far inferior to the Iowa team we keep beating."

That excuse has to get old.

Isu will come back and win, book it. Iowa isnt good.

All Prohm needs to do at the half is play Garza beating all the ISU players down the floor for an easy dunk and then laughing at ISU afterwards on a loop over and over again and force them to watch it.

If that doesn't motivate them, then you're done as a team this season because it means you have a roster full of guys that don't care, don't have respect for themselves or their school or their fans, and aren't competitors.

And if they don't have any of that, then just cancel the season.

Steve Prohm single handily killed Hilton Magic. Fred never bad to beg students to come to games. Maybe if he coached an exciting style of basketball and made winning at home a priority, you wouldn’t have to do that..

I actually enjoyed that game more than some of the wins.. I knew that crap lineups would continue because of prohms cluelessness and blind loyalty to transfer players and it was going to have to get bad before it got any better prohm playing Lewis made the game interesting for me. If they kept winning with those lineups the team would continue to be horrid. Maybe we make so progress now.. no I don’t buy that there isn’t a winning lineup on this roster. Now I’m hyped up for the changes next game.

Tonight just might be the peak of JorBo's basketball career, so I guess you just have to let him have his fun, laugh at him, and then he can go on his way and coach a high school team somewhere in the future.

I love how the commentators always said.... JorBo is a great COLLEGE basketball player. They never once said that he was just a great basketball player because they know college will be the highest level he reaches. November 11th was a dark day. Everyone was sure Foster was going to commit to Iowa, even the Iowa State writers and fans.

He surprises everyone and then shits on Iowa in his comments and Iowa plays that night and gets blown out by Depaul. Everyone including myself was despondent and thought it was the beginning of the end for Fran.

The Iowa team and Fran have responded to that and multiple devastating injuries/illnesses by playing and coaching better than they have in a long time.

Yep. I've been one of Fran's biggest defenders. Started that day sure that we'd get Foster and beat DePaul that night. Posted about the DePaul freakshow dunks during pregame then didn't come back to a basketball thread for a week or so. Acted like Zach McCabe, pouting with my hands up and looking for something to go my way like a little bitch.

Fran, staff and these dudes just went to work, dug in and got better. Whatever with recruiting. CJ and Joe T. were fallbacks and they're exactly what we needed. Saucy and Uhlis are promising. If we've got decent guards, it's obvious he'll figure out the rest. I just hope after New Year's we get some juice in Carver.

We have three (barring bohannon shutting it down) legit threats from outside and the best center we’ve had since I don’t know how long. Not to mention a backup point guard that can get to the hoop when he chooses. I think having multiple three point shooters on the floor at the same time is the big difference this year. Recently we’ve had one or two that I felt confident shooting (Gatens, Jok, Uthoff, etc.) but these guys can create and get to the hoop too.

I want to take this opportunity to tell Mike Gessel to go fuck himself. If it wasn't for his pissing down his leg and pants shitting, Iowa would be winning 3 of 4 in Hilton.

It was that whole group though. I appreciate that they brought us out of the darkness but there was always that doubt. Uthoff could be an All-American, then shrink. Clemmons spazzes and fouls on a 3 in the tournament in closing seconds. White figured it out as a senior but had meltdown moments before that, at Northwestern stands out. Pete was Pete. The depth, especially in the backcourt proved to be really bad.

These guys aren't loaded and Toussaint will spaz at bad times but they aren't scared.

The absolute best case scenario is bohannon takes a redshirt and Iowa can beat Cincinnati and go 10-3 in the pre-January schedule. Then they go 9-9 and make the NCAA Tournament as an 8-10 seed.

bohannon, Wieskamp and Garza come back next year. They challenge for the Big Ten and everyone jerks each other off.
