Klay Kubiak, 49ers assistant QBs coach?
Buffet mentioned that we may take an additional recruit if the new OC brings a QB. If it is Klay Kubiak, I’m not into him bringing his QB.

Can cross Bill O’Brien off any lists. He’s going to Ohio State to be their OC.

Schools who didn't even have an open OC position are hiring one before Kirk!!!

Maybe Hartline is pissed he was demoted in favor of butt chin? Give him a ring, or a stamped letter, Kirk.

Ohio State wouldn't have an OC if Bill O'Brien was still in the playoffs (had they made the playoffs)

Kirk is entirely comfortable with our QB/WR roster situation and there is no threat of offensive exodus (never mind that those two things being true simultaneously may not be optimal). What’s the rush?

What does Iowa's QB/WR coach think about that? That seems like it would be important.

most of it. there are schematic deficiencies too, but they aren’t the primary cause of the ineptitude imo
I’ve given up on trying to assign the appropriate amount of blame to all the associated pieces of this pile of shit we’ve called an offense. It’s all terrible. Players look shitty because the scheme is terrible. The scheme looks terrible because the players suck. It’s impossible to disconnect any of them from the other. It’s just ALL bad

I believe you need two things to have an efficient/good college football offense:

1. A core offensive competency you are good at - you can't be great at everything, pick one thing and make that your base. Whether that be the short passing game or a dominant rushing offense, you need tons of reps doing one thing really well. The season is only 12 weeks and your entire roster turns over every 4-5 years - this isn't the league, don't design your offense as though it is.
2. Players that can improvise when that one thing doesn't work.

Kirk's core belief of "if we just practice everything and execute, it will work" is antithetical to having a good college football offense. Good players extending plays and improvising on offense is what allows great college offenses to have success. Kirk & Brian telling a QB to never look at certain receivers or they'll get their hands cut off is the reason he'll never have a great offense.

Kirk continuously shuffling his offensive line until November makes it pretty tough to get good at #1 and is why I believe the run game hasn't worked for nearly a decade. Even when he has great individual players (Wirfs/Lindebaum), his offensive line never seems to work well until extremely late in the season - he needs to pick one thing and be really good at it, then find players that can extend plays and react.

It's ironic that Phil's defense is so great because he simplifies it and lets his players react most of the time rather than drawing up elaborate schemes that requires players to think before they do something. The offensive is the exact opposite of that and it's total garbage. It blows my mind that Kirk can't figure that out.

Sure glad this position still isn't filled and we may lose a top notch transfer because of it!!!

I mean, yes, Proctor entered the portal with the intention of transferring to iowa. But we do not have an offensive coordinator. I will be pretty pissed if we fucked this up.

Is there any evidence this is problem? Seems like the insiders all pretty strongly indicating it’s a done deal
