Once upon a Kinnick dreary
Our last place offense weak and weary
Over stunning lack and loss of volume of
——-touchdowns scored
While I nodded, frustration raging , suddenly there came a clanging,
As of Beth’s balls gently clanging, clanging at the head coach’s door
“Tis the new AD” Kirk muttered “clanging at my office door”
Nepotism’s over forevermore
this was really bad

And you even edited it

how much time was spent on this?

Philbin would be pretty underwhelming

Just to be clear, whoever it is won’t be the person who lead the worst offense in the nation, right? Moving from 130 to 85 would be so much fun!

We'll still get to bitch about the offense, but maybe just a little less.

I would like to drop the notion of running the passing game through the tight ends. Yes, use them heavily, but not Brians shit. I'd like someone who has the autonomy to can Bacon the second he steps foot on campus and actively looks for someone better than Cade. Finally I'd like someone who understands the concept of scratching where it itches. Stop being so predictable and game plan to your opponents weaknesses. We can keep trying to out execute everyone, but unless we have NFL talent up and down the offense it doesn't work.

I would also hope he would have a (much needed) positive impact on the O-line.
Yes, what we really need is a 3rd OL coach to replace Brian's OL expertise.

Brian was a really good OL coach, but he had little positive impact on the OL after he became OC. YPC numbers plummeted immediately.

They need to do what everyone else does and hire an OC who is also a QB coach by trade. There is absolutely no reason to have a separate QB coach unless you hire a gimped OC.
correct. it really should be a filter for the search, unless Andy Reid wants the job

Why would you take Betts away from the RBs?
I wouldn’t want to. But if you aren’t going to hire an OC who is a real QB coach and also need a full-time OL coach, you have to create space for a QB coach somewhere.

as @Bob Sanders said, the real problem is not just hiring an OC who is also a QB coach, like the majority of them are

Hiring Chryst would solve this all and it's the most realistic hire on top of it. Of course they will fuck this up.

I get that his OL coaching isn’t his focus since becoming OC. But I can’t call the guy a “really good” OL coach after watching this OL the last two seasons. A “really good” OL coach wouldn’t let them get that bad.

Well, he was a really good OL coach. That point isn't up for debate because the Iowa rushing stats when he was OL coach end the debate.

He is a shitty playcaller and his shitty playcalling makes the running game worse. That's what happens when a playcaller hates math and loves running into 9 man boxes because he wants to feel tough.

What does it mean if no OC has been named by Easter?
