Leave it to Kirk to hire a guy who has called plays for a total of one season in the last twelve.

I think hiring this 60 something year old
Dude will be a recruiting boost for the type of skill position athletes Iowa will want to recruit

This could be bargaining - but I wouldn’t be that bothered by it.

If it were somebody outside of KF tree with that much NFL experience - we would take it.

Plus, maybe he can help with OL

Once upon a Kinnick dreary
Our last place offense weak and weary
Over stunning lack and loss of volume of
——-touchdowns scored
While I nodded, frustration raging , suddenly there came a clanging,
As of Beth’s balls gently clanging, clanging at the head coach’s door
“Tis the new AD” Kirk muttered “clanging at my office door”
Nepotism’s over forevermore
Jesus.

If it was a guy eligible for social security with no history of coaching QBs, fired from last four jobs and hasn’t recruited since the Clinton administration I think most would have a problem with it.

It might work out fine, but it’s not above serious questioning.

I don’t think Philbin would be a terrible hire, but you can’t convince me he’s the most qualified/talented available option, just the easiest.
Yeah, that's what I meant by disappointing. He probably would be competent, but there's no way he's the best option they actually have. He's 62 years old and on a distinct downward career trajectory at this point.

If it isn't laziness, it's stubbornness.

Don’t be stunned if Iowa is forced to re-sign Kirk’s son, Brian Ferentz as punishment for Kamala’s song.

If someone is disappointed in Philbin's resume lately thats perfectly fine, but the age thing is stupid. Andy Ludwig was mentioned as a great option here and is 59

perfect. Makes him a great fit for Kirk's offense that is well known for game time adjustments and creative schemes.

NIL guy claims Kirk was in Ohio yesterday attending a funeral. Philbin could end up the OC, but this seems like Harty just guessing.
