I was willing to give Kirk another chance to redeem himself but it is now clear that he is and will continue to be the problem. He isn’t showing any competency towards fielding an average at best offense.

They are taking away 3 guaranteed cupcake games comparatively and replacing them with 3 games that more often than not are going to be non-cupcake games. Statistically the days of being able to waltz to 10 wins (as Iowa has done in 2 of the last 3 seasons) is over.

Great, it's not 6-6, it's 7-5 instead. Not to mention the travel West to a program that travels west like shit isn't a great trade off either.

Levar coached TE for 3 years. He played LB and has spent almost his entire career coaching D/ST. Never put together an offense or called an offensive play. If anything he would have been the “do what Kirk wants” choice.

Lester is a former QB who has had 3 top 30 offenses depending on how you measure it. I would have rather had Chryst or Johns but there’s zero reason to think LeVar is a better choice to be OC.

All while he had Johns right there that everyone would have been more than happy with.

I hope Tim Milquetoast works out and he somehow figures out a way to run Deacon Hill off.

Kirk was being honest when he was asked about what he was looking for in a coordinator, and he waxed philosophical about having character and being a team player. He was never looking for the on paper most talented offensive coordinator he could hire. He was looking for the guy who he felt "fit" the best, and for whatever reason, that was Lester.

Kirk is at a stage in his career where winning is clearly less important than doing things his way.
