I'm looking for a sports book that has IOWA -79 but I'm not having any luck

Either Indiana is really good, or Illinois is not nearly as good as the "experts" thought. The truth is probably somewhere in between. Nevertheless:

Indiana - 31
Iowa - 17

No pressure, big underdog, haven't played well against top competition in Kinnick for 4 years. It's time, boyz. This begins a new run of Kinnick as a house of horrors for ranked teams.

think about how many times a terrible indiana team gave iowa a headache throughout kirks tenure. time for some revenge

Can't remember the last time Iowa was a touchdown or greater home dog to someone other than Ohio State or Michigan.

For all the talk about Indianas offense their defense looks the part just as much, couple of real ass kickers

Past 3-4 years Iowa gets shut out by this kind of defense. I’d view 17 or more offensive points as surprising and a sign of improvement tbh

Indiana is overly aggressive, much like their coach. Kirk will slow the game down and frustrate them, and this is the game you paid to get a QB that is mobile and can extend drives. Illinois never tried to move the pocket, just stood there while Indiana sent the house. Iowa has enough to give them trouble.

On Defense their will be lots of opportunity for turnovers. Have to find a way to cover a couple of their weapons with Nickel type defenders and not the slow LB's.

Give me the Kirk special with Iowa winning 24-21.

I don't think it will necessarily be the new era of Kinnick as a house of horrors for ranked teams, as I don't foresee Iowa beating Penn State or Oregon, but I do think they'll knock Indiana from their perch for a week.

Man, it's been sooo long that I wonder if Kirk has a Kirk special in him anymore.
I know your mom had a Kirk special in her though!!!

I’m not sure where Iowa has an advantage in this game. Many will say iowas OL, but the way IU plays that’s completely negated because they just bring more than can be blocked.
Maybe counters, boots, screens for sure

I love it when someone says they aren't sure where Iowa has an advantage and then immediately lists multiple places they might have an advantage.

Good stuff.

Iowas path to victory is pretty simple. Hold Indiana to field goals or 4th down attempts inside the red zone on defense. Gonna have to tackle well in space.

On offense 10-12 play drives where Iowas running the ball and chewing up clock that end in points or pins Indiana inside their 10.

Illinois has one of the worst offensive lines in the Big Ten and their secondary was decimated by injuries and a targeting penalty. Their game plan was atrocious.

I don’t think Iowas going to win, but if they can just get the game to the 4th quarter Kinnick will help.

No way they can keep trotting Deshaun Lee out there as a starter. Watson finished the game so I'm assuming he'll start over Lee this week.
Did he replace Lee or was he just an extra DB?

What an ass kicking Hayden put on IU & Sam Wyche in 1983. I still remember being in our seats after the game when he brought the whole team out to midfield and went absolutely red ass on them…continually pointing at the the south endzone scoreboard…lol…good mems

I watched the full press conference of Cignetti today and that quote earlier was mild compared to other stuff. I get his whole thing is saying whatever he wants and being aggressive, but a lot of that today was flat out disrespect. He's got that right after winning that big, but he still has the sound this week of a guy over his ski's.

I guess we shall see, but usually a road game coming off a huge win like that at home and a massive game looming the week after might fuck with them a bit. The players are going to have their heads massively inflated as well. Punch them in the mouth early and frustrate them might be a good combo.

Agreed. All the ingredients are there for Kirk to make Cignetti eat his words.
