I still don’t understand why an unsportsmanlike conduct wasn’t called after X lit Mendoza up on the sideline. The Hoosier bench was way out of line
That play was ridiculous. Awesome hit by X and then like 7 guys surround him and put him into the Gatorade cart. Then they call an offside penalty on the play and a replay was never shown, so no clue if that actually happened or not.

Honestly I think the officials just panicked and called something stupid.

Cignetti is an extremely intense individual. I’m not sure his mental health is great, guy looks miserable at all times. On one hand, his players play with that intensity on the field, on the other you see shit like that on the sideline.

Indiana already had a sideline warning when he flipped shit on TJ Hall not getting called for PI when he looked up and almost intercepted a pass in the 1st half.

He was berating his players in the 2nd half of the Illinois game. You can get away with that as long as you’re winning.

Way more pissed about losing this game than losing to ISU.
I stopped giving a fuck by noon yesterday. The Oktoberfest beers, great food and decent weather helped.

Defense played well yesterday, way better than expected against a tough opponent. That being said, the program has had systemic issues on the offensive side of the ball for a couple decades but they’ve had plenty of time to fix that but it’s not going to change.

The drop off at TE is inexcusable but not surprising considering our QB play and general perception of our offense. We’ve done nothing to combat that

Just not enough great players on this roster. Defense played well, a few missed tackles. Offense is still a problem.
When the plan is to "muck" up the game, the small things matter and talent may eventually make the defining play.

Moulton is not a bad back by any stretch, but I thought there were some moments yesterday where the difference between he and a special back like Kaleb Johnson were obvious. There were three or four plays in the second half where the line opened a gigantic hole and Moulton just couldn't get there before the defender filled it and made a one-on-one tackle. Last year Johnson got to the hole just a bit faster and made that cut a bit earlier and then ran through the one-on-one tackle because he was in a slightly better position to do so.

The one constant over the last 20 years is the feeling of futility when down by more than 3 points with less than 3 minutes to go in the game.
Kirk is great at bleeding out the clock, and saving his timeouts for later. Unfortunately we don’t always want to do that.

He tried to break things to the outside a few times in the first half that Kaleb would have been gone, but Moulton only got 2-3 yards.

Peacock sucked to go back and watch plays but just watched that 3rd down play again and it was there. He panicked with the pressure and threw an awful pass. 13 minute mark of this video.

If Hecklinski isn’t better, Kirk needs to fucking go

Yeah it looks like a pretty critical block was missed by two OL.

Their LBs generally seemed to play a lot faster and freeer than ours. We should look into why that was over the bye week.

I suspect so, and also less constrained

Tim is better than Bridawg, but we still aren’t doing a great job putting LBs in conflict

When the free guy is coming from that angle, you just run him out and hit the screen inside. It looks worse because the pass was so far outside. If he hits it at the top of the 5 on the graphic where Moulton settled, he stays inside and has the 1st down.

It was a noncompetitive throw from the qb. I hope he gets better and plays It was his first game against a good defense, so hopefully he is better than that.

Not really, he started against Arkansas.

He was 7/13 with 3 INTs.....

I was told Tim fixed his throwing motion.
