I think I'm going to start a campaign to get people to stop using "corps" (or "core" if you're a dumbass) and "room" in conversations related to football. Waaaayyyy overused.....and yes, I'm triggered.
“Room”…sure.
But that’s pretty much a textbook definition use of “corps”

All that needs to be said is "linebackers" or "linebacker group." "Corps" is just unnecessary tough-sounding jargon that coaches and broadcasters started and sounds stupid when regular Joes use it.

And don't get me started on "scuffling" and "untracked." ;)

Given our clear inability to attract talented receivers, it’s somewhat surprising to me the staff has never made more athletically dynamic QBs a priority purely in strategic terms of constraining the defense and improving the running game. They aren’t hard to find. Fucking Coastal Carolina has a fantastic one, as did Liberty the last couple years.

I’m actually decently optimistic that Spencer has a breakthrough this year and manages to be at least serviceable.

But perhaps the most annoying possible outcome from this will be the apologists that point to say improvements in the line or in the running game with a “see, it was all the line’s fault!”

I’m still holding out hope that he gets it together. But I’m going to lol at the first dipshit that tries to credit improvements in another area of the offense as the sole reason Spencer was historically awful the last two seasons

It’s a combination of course. The OL being bad contributed to the offensive woes but Petras being pretty bad himself didn’t help.

OL will be better and another offseason of work SHOULD make Petras at least serviceable.

Especially when you consider some of our best seasons came while having either mobile QBs or QBs that could at least escape pressure and extend the play a la Drew Tate. 2002, 2004, and 2015 all had those QBs. 2009 is the only outlier but even then Stanzi could at least pick up a first down with his feet.
