usually betwixt 0.00 and 0.00. Yours?
Same.

I'm skeptical because your hypotheticals didn't even mention the player that has left the field every time they have switched from 4-2-5 to 4-3 this year.

Also, they have been rotating LBs this year, both Jacobs and now Higgins have gotten drives at the inside linebacker spots. Seth Wallace also indicated during the off-season that he planned to rotate Jacobs more at the the ILB positions.

which player is that? I noticed game 1 that Benson left the field and it was Campbell and Jacobs on passing downs. Benson is solid but Jacobs has much higher ceiling.

I'm pretty sure that starting linebackers don't leave the field when Iowa switches from a 4-2-5 to a 4-3.

I could see a low teens to single digits win in spite of the offense win vs Rutgers.

it's nuanced. the point was I am hoping Jacobs and DeJean are on the field together, but someone will have to sit to make that a reality.
I could not have hinted more at my point and you didn't even come close to getting it. It generally helps to actually read the posts of the person you replied to.

Dejean already plays every defensive snap and Wallace is already rotating the LBs.

Unfortunately if you type slower it doesn’t ensure someone reads slower.

I know I said I might not watch another game this year with Petras at QB, but if I'm not doing anything it's possible I could watch the Michigan or Ohio State game just for the Petras schadenfreude.

Every single game Petras starts I am hoping for a loss.

my point was DeJean and Jacobs should be on the field together most the time. That wasn't happening in game 1. Obviously because CDJ has played so well in the interim, whilst Jacobs was hurt, things have changed. Both are more athletic than Meriweather or Benson. Meriweather and Benson are solid, but don't have similar ceilings that the other 2 possess.

I like Jestin Jacobs just fine, but not enough to spend time thinking about who on what may be the best defense in the country needs to sit to make room for him.

If he could play QB I would have all day for that conversation.

If he could play QB, he’d likely be the only one on the roster who can.

I'm sure I've missed it but where is Xavier at? Is he playing ST at all?

I’m not sure what you call it, but on punt returns he is the guy in between the return man and the rest of the guys. And on punt team his role is that he is the first one there to pat Terry Roberts on the helmet after he downs a punt inside the 5 yard line.

I’ve been thinking about KF leaving one starter in for the entire game on Sat/Sun … Petras.

If his issue was that Padilla isn’t showing sufficient dedication to being an Iowa FB player the move would have been to give Labas the mop up snaps. But that’s not the issue.

KF simply didn’t want to hear that meager crowd cheer when someone other than Petras trotted into the field, or give another QB a chance to do something that might force his hand.

It’s ugly, is hurting this year’s team, and will hurt the program.

He’s ruining his legacy week by week. It’s sad and pathetic.

I think a lot of you are giving too much credence to the whole crowd influencing decisions thing.

my guess is, bc Petras has sucked so far, he felt he needed the reps.

I was referring to Michigan@Iowa in 2 weeks.
I doubted they would go with the same team (Michigan) two weeks in a row. But looking at the history, it seems like a lesser consideration to them. They would have to make the decision before Iowa/Rutgers has played though.
