I mean what is the ideal, realistic, solution this offseason? I don't even know if it's Kirk retiring if Barta is hiring...but that's just me being an asshole without any real information if Barta would be good at finding a new head coach. If Kirk stays I'd like him to make Woods associate head coach as well as his special teams coordinator role. Brian goes elsewhere, and they bring in a younger up and coming OC not associated with Iowa at all.

Brian finding another job. Hiring a real qb coach/OC, finding a transfer QB and at least 1 transfer wr.

Brian can't go anywhere until his racism case is dropped.

Best case scenario is firing the OL coach (no clue if he's bad are just the sacrificial lamb in this scenario) and letting Brian just be the OL coach until he is cleared, then Kirk can retire and Brian can fuck right off somewhere else.

Just had a conversation with a coworker. Her kid is in same class as one of BF’s.

Kids in the class were saying all sorts of shit abt BF to BF’s kid. Stayed home from school for three days last week bc it was so bad.

That sucks.
Kirk will not be pleased.

Brian to OL coach. Throw a bag at the Kent State OC and have him also be the QB coach with full control of the offense. New QB from Transfer Portal. New WR from the Transfer Portal. Shoot, Sowder could maybe just bring these two guys with him...

Not trying to be a dick, but I can't muster up pretending to be that upset about this.

The guy is wealthy from a job that he has via nepotism, that he's performing poorly at, and has thus far been sheltered from any real consequences from.

No, I don't want his kids to have a bad experience, they didn't do anything. So I do have sympathy for them if I'm objective about it. But if there are social consequences as a result of the complete lack of any tangible consequences for Brian's performance ... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Most angles have been covered but I’d add that if your kid is talking shit about BF to his kid in school, you’re a failure at something much easier than coaching D1 football.
Of course. It's not okay and I would light my own kids the fuck up if I learned they were doing it.

I try my best not to say anything negative about the Hawks when I'm watching them and my kids are around. I don't want my son acting IRL like I do on Halo lol. It's more fun to have the game on the TV while he's running around the living room and I'm throwing the ball to him. He doesn't need to hear any bitching. Really sucks for Brian's kids but I'm also surprised this hasn't happened sooner. People suck.

Lol. My house is a string of expletives during Iowa games. But my kids also understand that it's just a game, and when it's over it doesn't carry over to real life.

I have mellowed significantly regarding sports as the years have gone on. Also, my girls have zero interest. The only time I ever get super upset is when Iowa basketball is losing in the first or second round of the tournament as the have seemingly every year since daddy was seven. Go outside, girls. It's a perfectly lovely frigid March afternoon.

Spencer has to face the press after every game. He was in tears on Saturday.

BF's kids apparently have to face the junior press at school.

Today is the first and last time BF will be forced to answer any questions about the worst power 5 offense in recorded history.

It all seems very fair.

I talked to a coworker who has a kid in the children’s hospital. She said the offense is drastically slowing her child’s recovery.
I would think it would be motivation to get better sooner

A co-worker just told me Kirk’s son, Brian Ferentz punched her disabled elementary school aged child.
